I agree Tyroneed, the provinces are gone way past their sell by date.In fact it was never an equitable format. The sooner they are scrapped the better. cuederocket (Dublin) - Posts: 5084 - 04/08/2014 10:52:15 1631060 Link 0 |
PoolSturgeon, negativity is not going to win out. They can bring their cousins and have them line the goal line. Not going to stop the Dubs. hurlingdub (Dublin) - Posts: 6978 - 04/08/2014 11:13:38 1631072 Link 0 |
The football over the weekend had 2 games that went right to the wire, it was the venue and lack of atmosphere that was the problem. The managers obviously want to play in croker but unfortunately unless Dublin are playing there or its the Allireland semis onwards its a hollow place. Asking fans to travel when there is alternative venues has to be looked at. Let other counties venues enjoy the August Bank holiday weekend quarter finals and let local business's get much needed revenue in and creat a bit more interest and atmosphere. One of the best championships I remember was 1997 (though Kerry won and Cork were beaten by Clare). We had Cavan winning in Ulster for the first time in years. Sligo reached the Connacht final. Clare reached the Munster final. Offaly beat Meath in a very high scoring Leinster final. Kildare v Meath in the Leinster final was a three game thriller.. really good stuff.. bennybunny (Cork) - Posts: 3917 - 04/08/2014 12:18:38 1631130 Link 0 |

Wondering if there was a hangover from the world cup that has people such a downer on this years championship , I personally haven't been inspired by many of this years game ,however I really enjoyed this weekends game , kildare and Monaghan plus Cork and Mayo two cracking games . Some of the best goals seen in a long time scored . Damothedub (Dublin) - Posts: 5193 - 04/08/2014 21:16:16 1631534 Link 0 |
