Yew tree watch it again Buckley does nothing Keegan silly Cluxton did the same in the league and had to go, you just can't raise the boot plus I thought a kick out is a 3 month suspension? Interesting to see most posters on here are real supportive and knowledgeable of the rules.I dont care what the rule says, there is no way what Keegan did merited a red card.It was pathetic. The rule has to change, whereby a silly, feeble, petulent throw of the leg,or slap of a hand, merits a yellow as opposed to a red.It was, perhaps, the softest red card i have ever seen.As everyone seems to be an expert on the rule book,i say the law,in this case,is an ass, supported by a few stubborn donkeys. cuederocket (Dublin) - Posts: 5084 - 25/08/2014 16:15:20 1641834 Link 0 |

Yeah I thought CO'C done well but I was surprised to see him get man of the match. My 3 nominations would have been O'Shea, Boyle and O'Donoghue and I'd have given it to O'Donoghue. There's no doubt if he kicked that last chance ensuring a Kerry victory, he'd have been a shoe-in for man of the match. Former_Poster (Meath) - Posts: 394 - 25/08/2014 18:01:27 1641919 Link 0 |
Great game. Mayo are a better unit. They have the back up in management to ensure proper recovery. Kerry have shown their full hand and they will ultimately come up short in the replay. Mayo will win it for Lee who has been driving them on for the last few seasons. The group are not allowing anything or anybody to impinge on them from the outside.Mayo by two or three points probably after extra time. That was an excellent contest, makes you proud of the sport and realise how lucky we are to be entertained like this each summer. I thought AOS was entitled to motm when watching the game but having watched the 2nd half again today it is hard to argue with COC, he kicked some vital scores when Mayo badly needed them. Other than 4 great runs at the Kerry defence AOS didn't do a whole lot in the 2nd half, but that is judging everything from TV pictures. Colm Boyle was outstanding as well but his one handling mistake could have cost Mayo the game. As a neutral I was delighted with the result because it will be excellent to see these 2 go at it again. Well done to each and every Mayo supporter there yesterday, we really did make a difference! It was brilliant to see so much green and red flying. The volume of cheering on the lads has noticeably increased too, the lads on the pitch notice it too! MayoClub51 (Mayo) - Posts: 157 - 25/08/2014 20:12:50 1641994 Link 0 |
You are correct Former_Poster, but that just underlines how ad hoc and unreliable the selection of MOTM is - just like the all stars actually. I wouldnt have given it to O'Connor either. But I dont think o'donoghue was deserving of it. He was tied up for most of the game, he kicked some massive chances wide and the goal was a tap in. Id have given it to o'shea personally. Re kerry, I though david moran and johnny buckley deserved more praise than O'Donoghue. TheMaster (Mayo) - Posts: 16187 - 25/08/2014 20:22:36 1642001 Link 0 |
We would urge as many Mayo supporters as possible to get tickets for the replay in Limerick. We need as much support as yesterday, if not more! We need to turn the Gaelic Grounds into a #seaofgreenandred MayoClub51 (Mayo) - Posts: 157 - 25/08/2014 21:28:39 1642028 Link 0 |
Well now that was interesting!! Only back home today and all the talk on here and other places is about Mayo and their heroic comeback and how they will now have the confidence to go on and beat a 'poor' Kerry side etc etc etc TheHermit (Kerry) - Posts: 6354 - 25/08/2014 21:44:45 1642043 Link 0 |
Our semi-final last year was also hailed a great game. Shame for us that we lost out. Hats off to the capital for winning on the day. We had a poor 3rd quarter that day as well but we did recover. We missed a crucial point opportunity with a minute to go and the capital duly punished that with two late goals. Again yesterday we had a poor 3rd quarter. We regrouped like last year but to better affect in the end. Our changes had minimal impact last year. Our changes had more of an impact yesterday. In both semi-finals, the poor 3rd quarter, while giving full credit to our respective opposition, we were naive both games and made silly mistakes which contributed to it. I hope for our sake we'll have learned something from it. legendzxix (Kerry) - Posts: 7857 - 25/08/2014 21:58:33 1642059 Link 0 |
