Brilliant game!! Both teams gave it everything, made for a brilliant watch. Gutted for Mayo but both teams showed they have character in bucketloads. Great credit to both teams. JP91 (Armagh) - Posts: 316 - 24/08/2014 17:09:51 1641167 Link 0 |
Great game of football and both teams should take a bow; best second half I have seen in a long time and Mayo were superb with 14 men. Aiden O'Shea was brilliant in the second half but nowhere to be seen in the first; he has to play for 70 mins if they are to take this title. No disrespect meant to the great county of Limerick but the decision by the GAA to stage the reply there is totally shocking. That however sums up what the GAA is all about now...money. Great second half fair play to Mayo great comeback (ref give them a lot) and fair play to Kerry at the end, I presume Darren O Sullivan is injured? I think Mayo will win the replay but will be missing Keegan McLaughlin and Caferky big losses for Mayo , I personally think Dublin would beat either fairly comfortably. clondalkindub (Dublin) - Posts: 9926 - 24/08/2014 17:16:50 1641173 Link 0 |

Well done to both teams, very entertaining , but you had to wonder what Kerry were doing with their extra man! realdub (Dublin) - Posts: 8592 - 24/08/2014 17:22:26 1641181 Link 0 |
Complete disrespect to the football championship to have next week's replay in Limerick (and I'm a limerick man!). It should be switched to the following Saturday, the day before the hurling final. football first (None) - Posts: 1259 - 24/08/2014 17:22:35 1641182 Link 0 |

A massive 2nd half display from Mayo - thought they were going to do it and would have deserved it. Ban (Westmeath) - Posts: 1415 - 24/08/2014 17:25:19 1641185 Link 0 |
Great 2nd half, but I can't see either of these troubling the winners of the other semi-final, both have flashes of brilliance but not enough to sustain it over a full game. Both had dreadful spells, thought Mayo had it, but Donaghy was a great sub - certainly swung it for Kerry when they looked dead and buried. arock (Dublin) - Posts: 4897 - 24/08/2014 17:40:00 1641202 Link 0 |

McLoughlin will keep his place but needs to sharpen up on his passing. Gave a sight of ball away. I don't think Keane is the answer but if Horan looks at today's and Corks replay he'll see Cafferkey is one very over-rated fullback. Too polite and too often out of the square when it's danger time. He had tae and sangwiches ready for Star when he pounced to give O'Donoghue the goal on a plate. GreenandRed (Mayo) - Posts: 7347 - 24/08/2014 17:43:16 1641207 Link 0 |
Everyone on here talking about it been black and white in the rule book for the red card. Other things are black and white as well and the ref doesn't call it Example the tackle with the closed fist is also supposed to be a red card but its never called Goalie should have got a black card and Mayo a penalty but the ref didn't give either No card for Walsh for the punch on Keegan And for saying mayo got easy frees in the second half I wouldn't say that to Aidan O Shea Was mauled all game long So take your Black & White rules and stuf them cluichethar (Mayo) - Posts: 454 - 24/08/2014 17:45:10 1641209 Link 0 |
Why is it disrespectful to have the replay in Limerick? Easier for Kerry and Mayo people to get there. A packed house and money into the coffers of Limerick pubs, restaurants, hotels etc. GreenandRed (Mayo) - Posts: 7347 - 24/08/2014 17:47:27 1641211 Link 0 |
Excellent game.Mayo deserve a lot of credit for coming out in the second half, and dominating Kerry, with 14 men.Whatever about the ruling, the sending off was very harsh.I hope Mayo win the replay. cuederocket (Dublin) - Posts: 5084 - 24/08/2014 17:49:57 1641213 Link 0 |
Great performance by Mayo well done, only bad thing is the had the game in the bag and blew it again 5points up with 5 to go. Kerry faded badly in the second half. I still feel the game is 50/50 next weekend. Traleenative (Kerry) - Posts: 44 - 24/08/2014 17:51:28 1641215 Link 0 |
All i know s that Mayo can't do anything the easy way But i think this game will stand to them in the long run cluichethar (Mayo) - Posts: 454 - 24/08/2014 17:54:02 1641219 Link 0 |
Great game of football really came to life in the second half, was disappointed that Mayo did not hold on to win it, some great performances from Mayo in the second half Aidan O Shea is some player the driving runs he makes with players hanging off him, love the football they play at times, foot passing was great at times, think after that battle Mayo will be more ready for Kerry next week, if Mayo can play like they did for 25 mins of second half for 50-55 minutes next week they will win. If Dublin do happen to get past Donegal and Mayo win to get into final, might not be as easy as some Dublin posters are saying that's if it is that pairing in final. Finally think it's a disgrace for the replay to be played in Limerick(no offence to Limerick posters) but think all big games should be played in Croke park. aidan1000 (Leitrim) - Posts: 106 - 24/08/2014 17:54:29 1641220 Link 0 |
