The rule says red but I suppose the ref could have used discretion given it had no real malice, missed and its not a dirty game. However, if the ref is playing the rules to the letter then why did Mayo not get a penalty for a pull back which would also have been black for the keeper. Consistency again is the key failure. Kerry would wasn't to be careful this ref is itching to even the teams up, some shocking cards for nothing. I think both teams will lynch this guy. arock (Dublin) - Posts: 4897 - 24/08/2014 16:29:53 1641140 Link 0 |

Well Mayo playing going for broke, fair play to them, Kerry in real trouble with those kickouts. arock (Dublin) - Posts: 4897 - 24/08/2014 16:42:17 1641152 Link 0 |
Kicking or striking a player is an automatic sending off offence. Whether or not there was malicious intent or it was out of character or somebody was hurt is absolutely irrelevant. If these other factors should be considered then it just becomes a subjective, arbitrary decision by the ref. The many people who slam refs all the time for inconsistency should be applauding this clear, unambiguous application of the rules. Should have been a black card. If the refs don't use it get rid of it! offtheditch (Cavan) - Posts: 157 - 24/08/2014 16:48:18 1641157 Link 0 |

Mayo showing how to combat cynical fouling. Run at them. Moran has fouled o'shea at least 6 or 7 times if not more. offtheditch (Cavan) - Posts: 157 - 24/08/2014 16:53:34 1641160 Link 0 |

Some game. I was right, a draw. Not the best result for either team, an extra 7o minutes will really take it out of either side. Donegalman (None) - Posts: 3830 - 24/08/2014 17:08:23 1641164 Link 0 |

Everyoe va-va-vooming over Mayo in the second half, They where 4 points down at half time fair enough, But they where 4 points up with 3 minutes to go ? They threw it away in the last few minutes there!! waynoI (Dublin) - Posts: 13650 - 24/08/2014 17:08:49 1641166 Link 0 |
