Kerry are well capable of beating Mayo and could give Dublin a run; they have some very good young players. Ulsterman (Antrim) - Posts: 9706 - 05/08/2014 13:54:39 1631809 Link 0 |
Well well, here we are a month or so later and they are now thinking they have a great chance of lifting the title. SLLY (Dublin) - Posts: 463 - 04/09/2014 18:28:29 1648080 Link 0 |
For a team in transition, the lads have done well this year - winning both Munster and making an All-Ireland final against all the odds. The bookies odds speak volumes. There's not a whole lot more to add. legendzxix (Kerry) - Posts: 7868 - 04/09/2014 19:17:12 1648112 Link 0 |
If anyone thinks that Kerry or their fans expect anything other than victory against Donegal, then they're mistaken. Bookies odds mean nothing, last weekend showed that. Kerry are a fantastic team with excellent players. This thing about a transitional team who are happy with their lot for the year now is nonsense. Kerry are on a mission and I hope we are ready for them. Donegal_abroad (Donegal) - Posts: 1321 - 04/09/2014 20:16:47 1648130 Link 0 |
Peter Crowley and David Moran have been two of Kerrys players of the championship , mad to think both were warming the bench for the Munster final , now theyve emerged as two of the teams leaders stekhli (Dublin) - Posts: 3121 - 04/09/2014 20:24:04 1648133 Link 0 |
It's been a mad few months, couldn't have seen us get this far when goochie did his knee, and gally Tomas and Eoin called it a day, but fair play to Eamon and the team they all took extra responsibility and deserve to be where they are, but I have to say that with half our team on the treatment table and Declan being held together with bandages and the other half of our team are all novices , young lads who haven't tasted the big day in Croker, I'd say we might still be a year too early I'm afraid, Cian o'neill said when he took over it would take him 3 years to get the lads up to the level needed to beat the big boys, but we live in hope, Donegal did fantastic against Dublin and il hold my hand up and say I didn't give them a chance but they are a great team and the finished article . We are deep in transition I'm afraid. KingdomBoy1 (Kerry) - Posts: 14092 - 04/09/2014 21:03:42 1648165 Link 0 |
Ah sure all teams are on a mission. It's been an incredible performance from the lads so far in winning Munster against the odds and then making the All-Ireland final against the odds also. At the same time there is very much a realisation of where we are. When we look back on the quarter-final from '12 where Jack O'Connor acknowledged Donegal had our measure, we're still very much in transition with the retirements again over the winter and the new lads that have come in. Donegal are as good and probably better than their level of 2012. legendzxix (Kerry) - Posts: 7868 - 04/09/2014 21:09:21 1648170 Link 0 |
Donegal look better than 2012 and Kerry are not as good but Eamonn Fitzmaurice has proven to be a very good tactical manager so you'd never know. He seems to be a very genuine humble guy who knows his stuff. This All-Ireland could be won on the sideline and while Jimmy McGuinness is the master, Eamon Fitz is not far behind. county man (Limerick) - Posts: 1102 - 04/09/2014 21:31:56 1648189 Link 0 |
