Galway v Kerry

Kerry did enough to win, played well below potential and still had good bit to spare, they have kept the powder dry for the semi-final. These matches are all about the result not the performance. We've been in enough of them to know that.

Feeling confident about facing Mayo, were still in the hunt: 14-KY-SAM!

the hermit galway although a developing team played below potential as well. if you look at the facts galway had over 60% possession but kerry were far more efficient. they massed the defence and ensured their key forwards were isolated with lots of space. good kick passing which is a kerry trademark was the key to transfer from mass defence to attack. galway unfortunately found their forwards in bunches thereby having little room to do one on one. one thing that is a complete mistruth from what some posters have said is that kerry were in 2nd gear. its a convenient means to gloss over the perfomance of a favourite.

Kerry's performance was that of a team in transition. Mayo on the otherhand getting out of a tricky situation suggests they might reach the summit.
