But, they are going to ship a truckload of goals, be eaten alive by o'donoghue and get well beaten. TheMaster (Mayo) - Posts: 16187 - 28/07/2014 11:04:25 1627082 Link 0 |
I actually think Galway will give Kerry a game. Kerry are possibly being over hyped due tho their Munster Final form against a Cork team that didn't show up. Who know's what could happen. Galway have plenty of young fast players like Walsh and Lundy running at a not so formidable Kerry defense. Of course Galway have a weak defense too. It could be a high scoring game. yew_tree (Mayo) - Posts: 11245 - 28/07/2014 11:19:28 1627106 Link 0 |
This will be very high scoring I'd say. Galway could hurt Kerry at the back but as others have said I shudder to think what the Kerry forwards will do to what looks a very shaky Galway back line. MesAmis (Dublin) - Posts: 13719 - 28/07/2014 12:04:10 1627151 Link 0 |

Mayo would be hoping for a Galway performance id say to stop the mighty Kingdom suckvalleypaddy (Galway) - Posts: 1676 - 28/07/2014 12:15:20 1627168 Link 0 |
What exactly are people basing kerry having a weak defence on? They had the best defensive record in division 1 prior to the dead rubber game against cork! as_ky (Kerry) - Posts: 535 - 28/07/2014 12:27:07 1627184 Link 0 |

All 4 goals were scored by tipp when the game was over- which it was after 40 mins. lowballplease (Galway) - Posts: 935 - 28/07/2014 13:02:43 1627229 Link 0 |

lowball I think that is a good point you make. While the game was a contest, Galway had restricted Tipp to 8 points in 40 minutes. Is O'Donnell likely to be fit for the weekend? He seems to provide much of Galways physical strength in the back 6 and so I presume would be an important man to start. Soma (UK) - Posts: 2630 - 28/07/2014 13:21:05 1627244 Link 0 |
The penalty given to Tipp was for an imaginary foot check but I would agree that there was a Galway fadeout that the likes of Kerry would punish you for. Playing a 60 minute game against Kerry will not work for the Tribe like they did in 08 suckvalleypaddy (Galway) - Posts: 1676 - 28/07/2014 13:33:16 1627252 Link 0 |
A rusty looking Kerry to win by 3-4 points. aidan64 (Kerry) - Posts: 665 - 28/07/2014 13:33:36 1627254 Link 0 |
Given the great history between Kerry and Galway, I would never take their challenge lightly. TheHermit (Kerry) - Posts: 6354 - 28/07/2014 13:35:44 1627256 Link 0 |
Actually think this game will be closer than people think although I would find it difficult to pick anything other than a Kerry win. Still hard to judge exactly how good Kerry are as Cork simply never turned up for the Munster final. I think Galway could score a lot on Kerry but probably concede even more at the other end. If we could get a good foothold in midfield though which is certainly possible, it could make it interesting. Marooned (Galway) - Posts: 2224 - 28/07/2014 13:42:05 1627260 Link 0 |
Gary O Donnell shipped a bad knock at the weekend on his shoulder- touch and go to start I'd say. We'd have no fear about playing Daithi Burke if hes out. Hes a good player. lowballplease (Galway) - Posts: 935 - 28/07/2014 13:53:40 1627268 Link 0 |
If O'Donughue and Geaney get any kind of decent amount of ball this game will end up a cricket score. Traleenative (Kerry) - Posts: 44 - 28/07/2014 14:07:06 1627284 Link 0 |
