When I say Mayo barely got tested in Connacht, I meant they didn't have to play a top team (obviously nearly being beaten by Roscommon was a test).

Poor game and a better second half by Sligo but my god how easy Sligo have made if easy for Cork giving the ball away on countless occasions. cork took some nice long range points and are pulling away from Sligo again who have simply been poor. If Mayo play to our best ability then I think we can take the rebels. God knows we owe them a few more after many years of beatings in championship football.

Cork have some dangerous forwards, o Neill, Hurley and Kerrigan will need watching but I wasn't overly impressed with them. Sligo won a power of ball around the middle third and often gave it away through stupid errors, that will not happen around the middle against mayo next week. Gould will surely start the next day as if they put the same faces out next week in the midfield and half back lines they will be devoured by the o Shea's/mc loughlin/Doherty on the breaking ball

We definitely have the hunger for battle this year. Horan has the lads ready to peak for each stage. As for folding when things get tough in the championship I think this Cork team's stomach for the fight these past few years can also be questioned, Running up a big score against a Division 3 side in Tullamore is a far remove from doing it against a decent Division 1 defence in Croke Park. Should be a great game. Our good defence against their vaunted forward line and our limited forwards against their unfancied defence. I'm confident we'll win by 2 or 3 points.

Poor game but Cork never seem to play well in provincial grounds, expect them to up their game in Croker. Mayo will rightly be favourites but I expect Cork to put it up to them. Has the makings of a good game

Pressure is def on them for multiple reasons

The last two AI winners had to beat Cork and Kerry on their way to claiming Sam

Mayo will have to do the same in 2014

Cork have the capability of beating anybody but are as unpredictable as the Irish weather. They have some superb players but have never really pushed on to be the force they should have. I was worried about the Cork challenge last year but yet again it never materialised. Mayo are more consistent in terms of performing at a high level and for that they get my nod, they know how to negotiate the All Ireland series and their experience should stand to them. If Cork click they could easily win it but i'll go for Mayo plus three.

Cork struggling with inconsistency this year. Possibly better than before with Counihan where they were consistently just off the pace. No doubt their capable of pushing on. That the hurlers won Munster and they should have the dual players with them uninterrupted until this game will do them no harm at all. Would still fancy Mayo but if Cork catch fire, who knows? They have match winners but Mayo the more cohesive unit.

Jimdub. Horan will call it a day whenever Mayo finish in championship 2014. He's young enough to come back again in few years time. Mayo should beat Cork by 2 or 3. Expect Mayo to win midfield and mark Cork's danger men tightly

Would never underestimate a Cork team in Croke Park. Our championship record v them is awful with the 2011 quarter final am the first since 1916. That said if we bring out A game I can see us going through to the semi final. Interesting times ahead.
