What's the game everyone wants to see in 2014?

I fancy Wex to beat Limerick, fairly comfortably in fact. That will set up a classic semi final with the Cats. One thing about the Wexicans is when they get a run they will give anyone a game and they be like men possessed facing the stripey lads. Reckon they would beat them as well.

joteor you must have seen very few games over the years or either you are very young if you think that was a great game. average would be more appropriate.

Meath aren't a 16 point worse team than dublin or a 20 point or whatever. Even spillane said this yesterday. And if we are then god help donegal if they meet them. As I'm sure your aware donegalman , this is the same meath team you were lucky to draw with only a few months ago.

Spillane is only trying to make it look better than it is so that people stay watching the championship on tv. I am not counting any chickens, there is a chance that donegal and dublin will not meet this year. What I will reapeat is that Meath are a grand team, and can regain some credit in their next game. But to say that meath will come back and end up in a semi final and give dublin a game of it, I just can only see the funny side of this. Yes meath played well in ballybofey in the league, but that was a while back now. there is a lot of change and growth that should have happened between then and now. Whether that happened is something that is reflected on the pitch and the scoreboard.

Already an unusual year in football if I'm right, with all 4 senior provincial champion counties also winning the minor, 3 teams from each province making the last 12, and the possibility that any of the 4 provincial winners could make it all the way to the AI final without meeting any team from another province... just the way the draw has fallen.

I'm looking forward to seeing the Dubs against a decent Monaghan side and if they come through, against Jimmy's boys from the hills. The only place they'll meet either Mayo or the Kingdom is in the final, and finals are rarely classics. But the potential clash of styles of the most attack-minded against the most defence-minded of the top teams would be something to relish imo.

Any match that doesn't involve the punditry of the nauseating Pat Spillane.

Nice work Pericles.

I have not touched on the hurling yet but I would love to see Wexford continue to progress as the underdog and in the process continue to serve up highly entertaining games. While I do not begrudge the like of Cork, Kilkenny etc a Wexford Dublin final would be a breath of fresh air.

The game I want most to see is the semi-final meeting of DONEGAL v MONAGHAN Repeat of that great game last Sunday would be great even if Monaghan won
Twofold be better than listing to a lot of posts/media men slating Donegal after beating Dublin 1-8 to Dublin's three points.

Would love to see a Kilkenny v Wexford semi final. We haven't played Wexford in a while in the championship, and the last good team they had was 2004.

I'll like to see us against any of the other 3 provincial winners. Unfortunately we can only take on two. If the provincial winners all get through to the semi-finals, it'll be a repeat of the pairings from 3 years ago. I'm not sure many people expected Donegal to have won an All-Ireland in the mean time and for Mayo to have lost two. Actually, when we beat Mayo in '11, I left Croker saying that Mayo team will be in with a shout of an All-Ireland. Shame for them that they have not in two finals. All other counties in hope of winning the All-Ireland do have to fear it might be just Mayo's year.

I must be the only person who see's that Mayo look tired, the are running on empty this season. They remind me a bit of Donegal last year, except without the added hangover from celebrating an All Ireland win. The Mayo of 2011, 2012 or 2013 would have really punished Galway's constant defensive error's, but apart from a few key men upping the tempo, as a team they didn't all kick on. Likewise against Roscommon they laboured.

Now I say this with caution, as Mayo are a talented team. They have a stunning half back line, and also in midfield and half forwards. There full backs are also excellent, with full forwards being the only real suspect area. I say suspect, only when sizing them up against the other top 2 or 3 teams.

Now I think there is an element of Kerry cute hoorism in your comment. Building up the potential of the competition on your weaker side of the draw, so that when Kerry do beat them, It will magnify Kerry's achievement tenfold.
Kerry have a mental superiority over Cork and Mayo at Croker, and there has been no Championship results against any of these team in recent times for Kerry fans to be to worried.

Kerry All Ireland losses since 2009
2010 - Down All Ireland QF
2011 - Dublin All Ireland Final
2012 - Donegal All Ireland QF
2013 - Dublin All Ireland SF

I don't remember the last time Kerry lost to Mayo or Cork in the All Ireland series? Nothing to fear in that side of the draw for Kerry me thinks, you should make the All Ireland final without much hassle.

09-08/2014.
CROKE PARK on that date. And around 5-30 and Donegal already through to the Semi final. We can then sit back and relax, CHEER on Monaghan(hopefully) against the dubs and what a evening it would be to see Monaghan beat Dublin
