Wexford fans will stay for both games because they are hurling people. I recall a double header in Tullamore in 2012 where Dublin fans left in droves after their drubbing by the Cats and did not stay for Offaly v Wexford.

Apologies Dubs it WAS Laois ye beat that day but I did find it strange that so many people left before the main game. It was the first time I seen that since I started going to championship games in 1977.

Hill16man Limerick get better crowds than Dublin for League games when they are in the same division. Obviously Limerick Carlow does not get the same crowd that Dublin Tipp would get but the Limerick Cork game this year got a better attendance than a lot of the 1A games.

dublin had two full houses for their home matches this year
exctly my point the limerick public are only interested in the matches against the big teams
they dont have a hardcore support who will go to all games

Tell me hillman what county gets big crowds for the lesser matches in 1b, if Limerick had the big 1a teams at home there would be no problem getting 10,000 for games. You love comparing Munster crowds to Limerick GAA crowds but Munster represents 6 counties, of which Cork gives the biggest support, and Munster gets a lot of small crowds too for it's lesser games or when it's not going well

again that only shows one thing that ye dont have a hardcore support
now your fooling nobody suggesting most of munster rugby fanbase is from cork haha

your mistaking thier my friend
what happened after the dublin v laois match was it started bucketing down rain
and the stand was half empty so they allowed people from the terraces go around into the stands
thats why you saw a lot of movement a lot even went across the pitch

Suggest closing this thread. Opening a new one and let's talk about the hurling. Anyone agree with me.

I fully agree. This thread is so silly as there will be plenty tickets available.

I have no idea why people get so defensive about the size of their county's support. It's hilarious really. If a limerick won the All Ireland I wouldn't care if people said we had the smallest following of any team in any sport anywhere in the world. And people can accuse Limerick of having a bandwagon all they want. I'd gladly drive the thing if needs be

To be fair Limerick have always had big support and every county has bandwagoners and without them the big days would be much smaller and not as enjoyable either. The big crowds make the occasion. Some counties traditionally have more support than others and its normally down to population and levels of success - its much easier to follow a successful than one getting stuffed most days. The mine is bigger than yours argument is really unnecessary. May the two best teams win on Sunday.

20,000 tickets still for sale. And to think some wanted it brought to Croke park

capacity for thurles has been reduced for this game from 53,500 to 46,500
makes no sense that they reduce the capacity when they are going to be looking at their largest crowd of the year
may well sell out now

Why did they reduce the capacity Hill.??
Makes no sense at all.

Wexford and Limerick will bring a sizeable support. And Tipp at home will surely have huge numbers at it.
Hopefully we will have a good crowd from Dublin at the game also.

I would say that Munster council set Capacity at 46,500 and will have stewards in place and styles / gates open to cater for that size of a crowd. I am sure if ticket sales reach the mid 40's they can increase it. Also there is terrace Juvenile tickets available now through county boards at 5 euro. Dont let all the hassle about tickets spoil the build up.

Tipp people dont go to matches in Thurles!! Did ye not see we were outnumbered vs Limerick!!

Actually Tipp people dont go to hurling games anymore bar an odd 5 thousand of us!!!

So should be plenty of stand tickets left or did Limerick people get them all!!!

dont know its still very strange as if a large walk up crowd happens on the day or on saturday then they wont have sufficent time to
increase the capacity
i never hear of croke parks capacity being reduced when they dont open certain areas.
on another note the screen was back up in front of hill16 last sunday again
should this not be in all provincial final venues if they are persisting with it at croke park
plus did anybody else notice that they had built at the corner of the canal end and hogan lower a special tunnell
which was there for the leinster semi finals in football and the leinster hurling final
yet was gone last sunday for the leinster football final
it must have been done for garth brooks only
