Id say for the size of the county, and population,i think Cork have the worst following of all counties for league games.Never more than a couple of thousand did i ever see at Pairc Ui Chaoimh.Pairc Ui Rinn was a small improvement but still paltry.

There was a time when Limerick wouldn't see one man and his dog going to games when they were bad.

When was this?

Did the owner pay for the dogs ticket?

I wouldn't know because I don't support Limerick. But I suppose the question for you would be when did ye win your last Munster before 2013? It would be in that period somewhere between 96 and 2013 I suppose.

No matter what why you look at the whole thing if the GAA are going to be fair to each county then they would allocate the tickets equally to each of the 4 counties for terrace whatever. In the interests of fair play they should have put 4 allocations of tickets aside for the game and then allocated to each of the 4 participating team. They should do this for any similar games all the time.
So before some Limerick people start moaning about being left in the rain in 1798 while all the Wexford people sat in the stands it wasn't Wexford's fault, the GAA allocated the tickets. We deserved a bit of a break after Vinegar Hill and our fight to free Ireland.

But when did our support constitute "one man and a dog" as you stated in your previous post - been supporting limerick hurlers and footballers for years and dont remember support being that bad for hurling championship

Not another County with the poor us and everybody against us mentality. Did he not see how the whole Country turned against Clare because of Davy and his whinging. Always loved seen Wexford winning but can't stand this siege mentality and everybody is against us.

@Admin Please let us make the point.
I wouldn't know. Says it all, throw mud, no facts and then you can't back it up.

Limerick last year, 15k vs Tipperary, 26k V Cork, 35-40k vs Clare. This year 13k Vs Tipperary, 15k vs Cork probably another 12k on Sunday. Limerick have a solid support all the time.

Turns out at an average of 19k a game, only Cork could beat that figure.

Westfester, Dublin get 6/7,000 for home league games. A long long time since Limerick got that in Ennis Road for a league match.

Hoover don't know where you are getting them numbers from, 2013 v Tipp you say limerick had 15k full attandance that day was 19,507 and 40k for Clare game ? Every County has it's 7k to 10k real supporters after this it's bandwagon stuff.

If DD says he will be in the terrace then he will be in the terrace he is a man of his word... Listen what wexford people were arguing about was not to get more tickets then the other four counties but the same... And our CB major grievance was with the lack of communaction from croke park had they been told before the Waterford game this scenario was likely to happen then at least we would have had a chance to put some sort of procedure in place.

The way we have gone about trying to get more tickets in my opinion has been wrong we come across as a bunch of whinners and I freely accept that but had the CB not goin publin with there efforts to try get more tickets our people would have kicked up an almighty fuss.. it's damned if you damned if you dont.

Anyway I hope everyone gets some sort of ticket and to all the participating counties best of luck.

Yep Tipperary brought no more than 5k to Limerick that day fella. We even outnumbered ye in Thurles this year.

What crowd did dublin get for home league games against carlow and offaly last year? - dont recall 6/7000 being at those games - limerick v galway league game this year got about 6000, games v cork and galway in minors got around 5000

Mr Devereaux in his article states "I will be taking my place on the terrace with the greatest supporters in the country"

Are these the great supporters who brought poor crowds against limerick in 2011 - cork in 2012 (part of double header with football i think), clare in 2013 and 2014 (in ennis) -- as boastful as we can be some times even I wouldnt say something like that!!! All counties have their diehards all of whom are as passionate and as good supporters as each other and the bandwagoners come after that - personally i think the bandwagon effect is great - the more people goin to games the better - young kids get inspired by playin in front of big crowds so probably best to welcome it and not knock it

Ok Tipp brough 5k to Limerick hoover in 2013 that's a good one alright, we are not the best supporters but don't insult us with 5k at a Munster championship match.

Suggest closing this thread. Opening a new one and let's talk about the hurling. Anyone agree with me.
