Ticket fiasco- Hurling quarter finals

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Completely agree with pinkie, the issue is that not enough tickets going to clubs. On top of that the majority of general sale tickets were snapped up in the week before the waterford wexford game. Always going to be a ticket issue. Anyways purchased terrace tickets in case club stand tickets don't materialise in the next few days. Not missing this for the world.

Wexford fans will stay for both games because they are hurling people. I recall a double header in Tullamore in 2012 where Dublin fans left in droves after their drubbing by the Cats and did not stay for Offaly v Wexford.

You've some memory buddy.........

In 2012 Dublin were indeed drubbed by Kilkenny............in Portlaoise.........3 weeks after Wexford played Offaly in Tullamore.

Ha in fairness bud, we did indeed play in that double header - we hammered Laois before the Wexford Offaly game so your memory isn't all that bad. However for us to have left in droves, as you said, surely we should've turned up in droves in the first place! Also the place was near empty during the Dublin Laois game.

I'll be sticking around to cheer on the dubs who've been shafted here as much as we have. Lets show them no amount of preferential treatment can save Munster.

Preferential treatment, these games have been in Thurles for the last few years, just because Wexford are there the rules should change to suit? Get a grip and don't bring Limerick into this issue ye are having with tickets.

In fairness Doylerwex, these games have been played in Thurles for the past few years. I did think they would have played Tipp and Dublin at a neutral venue mind....

If Wexford get to the All Ireland final, Croke Park wont be big enough for them, last year Tipperary were knocked out of the championship in nowlan park with limited capacity. Cork and Limerick played a munster final in a stadium with limited capacity, Semple stadium has been the venue for the 1/4 finals for the last few years regardless of who was in it. 53000 capacity should be well able to hold the crowd and all the wexford fans who wish to go

Please explain how ye have been shafted!! How have munster had preferential treatment over dublin - would you say leinster have preferential treatment in getting all ireland semi finals and finals in leinster

Yes of course the winners of wexford and waterford sohuld have been allocated the same amount of stand tickets as the other 3 counties - however the venue was announced last week and wexford (and indeed waterford) county board should have raised the issue then.

Doylerwex i think your venting your anger at the wrong people here. This has nothing to do with Limerick or Tipp its all gaa headquarters . I find it rather funny that we sell rights to our games to show them to the world and yet we cant if handle a ticket issue for our own but hey must just be me

I am aware of thurlus being the usual venue of late but that should have changed the minutes tipp beat offaly. Nobody should have home advantage at this stage. If the demand is higher why not try to accommodate it. Limerick shouldn't have had to go to cork the other week either. This nothing beats being there campaign is all huff and no puff

It is curious that Limerick supporters who claimed that they could have brought 40,000 to Cork are not saying anything about Thurles where they are only entitled to 10,000! Surely nothing to do with the fact that they were beaten in Cork!

In a word....season-ticket holders.... I'll just wait for the first clever poster to point out that's more than a word.

I find it bizarre to have all these 'true supporters' ranting about ticket issues every once in a while - the way to go about it if you attend as many matches as you claim is to buy a season ticket, thus guaranteeing access to stand tickets throughout the season, up to and including all-Ireland finals.

Do you think?? We had more at our hurling semi final than ye had for the home tie vs Cork. We will out number ye 3 or 4-1 on Sunday so don't try and have a pop at Limerick from your little perch where you are obviously very mis informed.

Some amount of bandwagon bashing going on here! Sure isn't it all pots calling kettles black, aren't we all bandwagon merchants to some degree? Is it necessarily a bad thing? I look at 50k people watching Celtic win by a cricket score every week and I while it can be viewed as admirable loyalty you gotta wonder could they not be doing something better with their time. I'm not sure if that sheep like behaviour merits a pat on the back either.

I think the smart fan picks and chooses the games the games he/she wants to attend. Sometimes it might be an u16 club game because we've heard of the next prodigious talent is in action, sometimes it's a high profile inter county. It's only natural that high profile county games draw a crowd, if they didn't we'd have bigger problems. Fans bases will always increase and decrease with wins and defeats. It would be great if core support grew a little after the bandwagons derailed but that often doesn't happen.

Bring on the bandwagons for Sunday, the bigger the better!

Talk about Pavlov's Dog Hoover!

Do you not think it strange that all those people who were giving yards about about the Munster Final being in Cork could not be bothered their backside driving down the road to Thurles?

There will be the usual 5/6,000 of us there on Sunday. I never claimed we were that well supported. Unlike some :-)

Lads can I just point out that I suggested a change of venue before Wexford beat Waterford. I'm not accusing tipp or limerick of Anything. I don't think it's fair tipp have home advantage and either wexford or Waterford deserved s fair share of all tickets

this is ridiculous
slating dublin hurling support is stupid we actually have a hardcore support in hurling that stays pretty much the same
for championship apart from a final maybe. limerick of all can hardly class hardcore support levels as they
get nobody until the rugby season ends. dublin hurling support has grown over last 4 years a lot
you cannot expect it to suddenly become the size of football over a couple of years.
as for wexford people complaining about tickets sure they are staging our football quarter final with donegals
as a double header which will make tickets very tight you would imagine considering we had 50 thousand
supporters against meath.
