elbowing isnt a bite..again..what was your opinion on the incident before a dublin player has been accused of biting somebody?..i imagine you condemned suarez like most did yet find yourself talking about an elbow which happens with regularity in a football match....be objective before making a post....i thought nothing of the elbow...biting somebody is not a natural reaction

Biting someone who has attempted to elbow you is ridiculous.

Biting someone who has stuck his fingers in your mouth to fish hook you from behind when you've done nothing directly to them is a bit different imo.

My honest view of this is simple, I think MOD didn't handle this particularly well but to be fair to him he was probably just backing his player (Burke) who most probably insisted that he was bitten. So I think Burke should ship a fair bit of the blame aswell, whereas MOD really should have said nothing at least till he seen the incident properly and allowed himself time to calm down. It was poor judgement on the Meath managements behalf and I'm too pleased with them to be honest, they acted too quickly.

However then you have people Charlie Redmond coming out castigating Meath and basically condoning biting by saying "I was bitten when I played" and "these things happen during games and they should be left on the pitch", well I'm sorry Charlie but you can stick those comments up your you know what.

Biting is not acceptable (and I'm not even saying that O'Gara did bite Burke) under any circumstances and you just have to look at outrage over the Suarez biting incidences to see what most people really think of biting when they take their biased caps off. O'Gara may very well be innocent in this case and therefore MOD was wrong to bring it up so quickly and he deserves criticism for that but people shouldn't be going around condoning biting and brushing it off as the norm.

lot of biased posters on here..far too many fanboys..if you are going to make an argument..be objective..stop trying to justify biting no matter what happened..it is not a natural reaction...the same people would have condemned suarez and if it was done to their own player would be demanding heavy bans

so you justify punching somebody several times in the head do you?
id tell you one thing i think having my head used as a punch bag would be a lot worse than somebody biting one of my fingers
seems mad that people condone punching which is much more serious than a bite i have always felt
as if you punch somebody you could leave them with a serious injury if it lands in the back of the head
you end up in court for doing that outside of a sports pitch

Interesting you thought nothing of his reaction to being attacked!

Being objective obviously means agreeing with your opinion?

I condemned Suarez as stupid for launching an unprovoked unnecessary vicious attack on a player with his back to him!

I guess it depends on where you draw the lines of comparison to the suarez incident but surely nobody can argue that o'gara was the aggressor in this intance! Yes there was a foul on Reilly but there are many fouls in every game what happened after was totally unnecessary and unprovoked!

Couldn't agree more MesAmis. Matt Hayes would have been proud of that hooking. Seriously if biting a finger in that situation is not a natural reaction while you are in a headlock and having digs thrown at your head then I don't know what is. Fair play to Eoin for not reacting.

I feel truely saddened by the whole thing. There was very little in it boths ways, bites, punches etc.

Both sides should have just walked away from this, becuase when you look at it all again it was a storm in the teacup.

I used to hate b&é"'(ks like Lyons etc, but they gave it out and took it at the sametime. How far Meath have fallen.

The will ban EOG but then 3 Meath players will have to be banned for throwing punches etc.
