Biting incident

more fanboy bias again there hurlingdub..lose the 'tough guy' argument..when were dublin players bitten?..the 70s was it?..kerry have done lots of whinging about what tyrone did to them so that argument doesnt hold any weight...and a certain ex liverpool player has really brought biting to the mainstream in recent years so it is no doubt a major offence...what was your opinion on suarez hurlingdub?

I agree, but I think both should receive a suspension over what occurred. I cannot condone biting whether its a Dublin player, Meath player, Kerry player etc. its just not right. However as hill has said it was dealt with during the game, so is this definite it cannot be looked at again?

Here is a picture during the incident with O'Gara Showing his teeth and no Gumshield.

I'm sick of these threads about the incident at this stage. Meath Say it was All O'Gara's Fault, Dublin say it Was all Burke's Fault. Nobody is going to Argee. Dublin Lads will back their players (Bar a few who don't have blue tinted glasses on) & Meath people will back their players (Again unless they are wearing Green tinted glasses). MOD was wrong with making this public and should have been dealt with a lot better but this Back and forward c**p needs to stop and everyone needs to move on.

1624125 it stated it was mentioned in refs report
so now they actually under rules cannot suspend either player
a he gave them both yellow cards at the time of the incident and the rule is they cannot be suspended as its classed as being dealt with during the match

Case closed lets move on

1624042 Mickey Burke, a Hurling man, complaining about a wee cut to the top of his finger...
Beggars belief, it really does....

Now I don't know Burke personally and I have never spoken to him but I would be confident enough in saying that his complaint was in relation to how he was cut and not the actual cut itself, and if it was a bite, its a fair enough complaint! Biased opinions beggar belief. As I said in an earlier post, the actions of both men were wrong. The fact that he is a hurling man is neither here nor there, it adds nothing to an already poor argument.

lot of biased posters on here..far too many fanboys..if you are going to make an argument..be objective..stop trying to justify biting no matter what happened..it is not a natural reaction...the same people would have condemned suarez and if it was done to their own player would be demanding heavy bans

Oh don't worry I will be slagging him myself the next time I see him, which will be soon enough....

I seen the bit of wrestling and harmless slaps being thrown, handbags at dawn kind of thing, and I thought the referee dealt with it well, however, biting someone is a dirty act and the perpetrator should be punished accordingly.

waynol it is relevant to the argument here as he regards people complaining about biting as whingers and sore losers?...my point is he probably condemned suarez as the majority of people did and would have condemned a dublin player being bitten in a similar situation..why post if you have nothing constructive to offer?

the way i see it.

o'gara started the rumble by fouling reilly and then pinning him down. Reilly reacted and the meath players ran in. Scuffle broke out.

Burke was very agressive on o'gara by dragging him. O'gara tries to trip him and burke goes for his head.

I don't believe he fish hooked him. Why would you stick your finger into his mouth? That's the last thing I'd do. O'gara bit his hand and that picture shows it. You need to see a video to prove whether burke moved his hand into o'gara's mouth or if he move his mouth onto his finger as burke was holding him.

nobody except the gaa can prove it either way. stop commenting as if you have video proof and know what happened.

This is very clear cut when reviewed and that is the reason Meath are now trying to pull back from the accusation

referring to your specific post to me.....contrast the reaction in relation to how big an offence biting is seen on this thread amongst certain dublin posters compared to how a certain uruaguayan biting somebody the other week was seen as?...amazing how opinions can change when it suits some people

i agree mesamis..lets hope the gaa can come to a decision and hopefully there is some strong action taken one way or the other and not the farce like last year however i wont hold my breath on that given their track record

Fabio was chiellini suspended for swinging an elbow at suarez as a reaction to being viciously attacked when walkimg away with his back to the player?

How much uproar did you voice about such a reaction from chiellini?

Elbowing can be very dangerous and I don't agreewith it but if someone has their teeth in my shoulder i will swing whatever i can to cut him loose! What is your opinion?
