would want to improve or else ulster critics will have a field day. why cannot one team let loose? it is not due to lack of talented footballers or maybe it is. donegal better side but were lucky they did not concede a penalty as it was aclear foot block.

Pure sh1te.

Donegal are at least trying to play some football but Monaghans tactics are idiotic.Playing a one man full forward line for almost the entire first half was downright stupid. Conor McManus has barely got a kick of the ball and you'd feel sorry for Kieran Hughes having to battle against 5 defenders on his won for most of the first half

Wasn't a footblock as he didn't block the kicker's striking action
Not alone did he block it purposely with raised feet he slid on and took him clean out

Imagine how many black cards will be handed out to these two teams when dublin run at them at pace from half back line and midfield.

Dour game as expected. Monaghan are tactically inept. A one man full forward line. A junior C manager wouldn't employ that tactic. Definite penalty. How the ref gave a free against the Monaghan player who was fouled and then pushed over the sideline is beyond comprehension. Donegal to win by 5pts.

Surely for it to be a foot block you have to actually block the ball with your foot which Durcan didn't. No penalty and correct decision from where I was sitting.

To be honest, all this praise the Leinster final is getting in comparison to the Ulster final is rubbish. It's only entertaining if two teams are competitive, watching Meath hopelessly limping around the field after a far superior team does not interest me, no atmosphere, no contest and no second half viewing from me. The quality of football in the Ulster final is admittedly poor but it is a close contest and I'll sit and watch that far quicker than I'll watch lambs get slaughtered!

Donegal well in control.

Monaghan clueless in attack.

Lovely finish in fairness.

Mon needed that badly.

Spot on saffron, much much better than Leinster final. Not much entertainment in watching Dublin playing a challenge match. This is competitive which is what you want.

Looks like Monaghan just got lucky with that goal in fairness.

Only thing that kept them in it.

Each to their own when it comes to defining a good game but I too would prefer this over the first game. Suppose it's like the cat licking its own backside - all a matter of taste.

He saved it with his foot but didn't break the footblock rule. No penalty for that.
The sliding action was possibly a penalty

Monaghan won't ever do anything with the attitude they went out on the park with today. Shocking. Deserved their beating.

This game has been as predictable as the Leinster Final in its own way.

4 points in it but it may as well be 15.

Monaghan attack v poor and clueless. Stupid fouls at the back didn't help either.

Congratulations Donegal! Hard game to call beforehand but I eventually put my money on Donegal :)

There was only a goal in it and if Monaghan had a deserved penalty in the first half it could have been level on 70 mins. Dublin had their name on Leinster half way through the first half. There is a hell of a difference there

They didn't get the peno though.

When they got the goal it looked like we might get a match for 5 minutes but DnG closed it out and the result never really looked in doubt.
