Dublin v Meath

Fionn

Yeah, I think Tobin possibly will be put on Connolly. Personally I'd put him on Flynn as Flynn did a lot of damage to us last year. I think Cooper will pick up Bray as he's the fastest in the Dub full back line. Bray should have a bit of a strength advantage on him.

My worry is Harrington in the defence. He's not bad but he lacks pace. He's possibly more suited to marking Brogan as Mannion is lightening quick.

I'd be tempted to switch Harnan to centre back and use Keogan to tigthen the full back line but it dies take away from out strength in the middle quarter as Keogan is excellent at marshalling that area.

Graham Reilly will drop back out the field to pack the middle of the park and leave space inside. We'll need him to help track back overlapping runners in midfield. Tormey will do similar. That'll leave Damien Carroll the job of pulling the strings in the forward line. If he gets space he's good at picking out the passes. McMahon will be using his speed for the counter attacks but he might struggle with the physicality of this game.

wayno

Either way we will be back here on Monday debating what went right or wrong for our sides.

Monday??? Ah I'm not too sure about that wayno, especially if it's a nice day, tuesday is a better bet to be honest but if Meath wins then it could well be monday alright......28th that is :-)

Well waynol thanks for singling out myself but reading through a fair few posts I'd say I'm probably less optimistic than some. But yeah I think we have a chance. What I don't want to read on Monday if we did win is the cliche ahh Dublin were poor or they not interested in Leinster etc. If we get beat I'll be on to congratulations to all dubs. But I'll respond to CD, Seamus Kenny first year on Meath team played in all ire final. He is often quoted as saying he just thought they'd be back the next year or two. He still hasn't returned . take your chance when you get it.

Back to the game itself. Every pundit expert call them whatever have written of Meath. That suits us fine all the pressure on Dublin. All this talk about Dublin at their best would steam roll Meath. Well let me tell you Dublin will have to be at their best actually very best. The media hype around dubs is unreal. I'm sure Gavin will have them shielded again a extra worry for a manager but I rate him highly. But do they_ kknow what to eexpect from Meath. There's a air of confidence I ain't seen in a long time around the Royal, they are not going to just make up the numbers, they want and the big thing, they believe they will win.
If Dublin prevail they will rightly go on and win Sam. As the day nears I am growing in confidence that Meath just may shade it. Reputation of opposition never bothered Meath , it won't bother them on Sunday either.
Best wishes to both teams management and fans. These arethe days wwe all wait for . enjoy them.
Hon the Royal.

Royaldunne your living in the pass my friend , Meath have been bet up and down the country the last 13 years, Laois limerick Fermanagh etc have all knocked Meath out of the championship, your reputation was you's were never bet until the final whistle well that is well and truly in the past , Meath teams the last 13 years do fear reputations.

Also over the past 13 CD Meath have beaten Kerry Tyrone Dublin Mayo etc. But guess what not one of those means a damn thing. All that matters is Sunday

Tyrone was a depleted team it wasn't a massive surprise , Mayo had a reputation? I was talking about after 01 which was the last great Meath team so Kerry doesn't count in making my point.

I don't think they do actually. At all. When they get the bit between the teeth they're a hard team to put away. O'Dowd is building a solid outfit. Doesn't have the quality Boylan had at his disposal mind...

How do we know he's building a quality outfit? Cause they bet Kildare? By the way Kildare should have won that game they battered Meath for the last 25 minutes Meath had no answer to them only for Kildare's shocking shooting they would have won comfortably.

I'll tell you what CD. You'll know by 4 on Sunday that he's building one hell of a team

Paddy Andrews and Bernard Brogan come in for Dean Rock and Paul Mannion no other changes. Very surprised Mannion is dropped but you wouldn't know if that will be the starting team. I think if Costello was to start Jim wouldn't name him anyway cause of all the attention he would get.

Maybe I'll be wrong but I don't think that will be the starting 15 come Sunday.
