How much is your club membership?

Very interesting post and as I'm involved in the running of my club in Wicklow, something I've long been curious about. Ours is €100 for an employed adult with various decreasing prices depending on age etc. It's hard work to get everyone to pay up which is something that really annoys me given the amount the time and recreation lads get out of playing.
I read an earlier poster say "€140 is a rip off"! Fellas like this drive me round the bend- such a bad attitude. It's a tiny amount when you think about the facilities clubs have these days and the time volunteers put in behind the scenes to allow them indulge in their past time. Shame on these people- the same lads who think nothing of blowing €100 on a night out have to be dragged kicking and screaming to pay their subs!!

Best post around here in ages, what with other posters sneering at people for not paying SKY a shed load of money for utter crap this is a real issue the armchair brigade wouldn't have a clue about.

But how right you are, obviously if you ask for €140 in one lump its difficult, do you have a sub collection system? This is something at issue in our club with about 2,700 members. I find the hardest least rewarding thing about coaching etc is membership fees. And the way people think the lights are paid for by someone else, the grass mown etc etc In Dublin in our club if you don't pay you don't play and yes we do accommodate people who are in difficulty.
