Under-Rated Players

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

If we're talking about players regulary mentioned as the 'highest rated' or best in Ireland, Brogan, C O'Neill, Aiden Walsh, Cooper, M.Murphy, MDMcA, Karl Lacey, Aiden O'Shea, Jamie Clarke etc...Aaron Kernan is nowhere near that list.

I think he's in that elite bracket, which is why I say he's underrated, probably due to being half back but I do think he makes any team in Ireland.

Yes Aaron is a Class player.
I would have him in my team everyday.

Peter Harte is another. I rate him highly but he could also be considered Under-rated.....

MG - highlight whatever text within your post you want to be in bold then press the 'B' button above where you are typing your post (you have a B, I, U and url buttons). You want to put in italics, do the same and hit I, Underlined, hit U etc.

Denis Bastick - Dublin
With all the other 'super-subs' over the last few years - Rock, Kev Mac, EOG, I think Bastick's role has been overlooked.
Coming on with 15/20 mins to go and winning vital ball in the middle of the p[ark when the game is in the balance.

One of my favourite players.

_______________

I also agree with Denis.

Johnny McCarthy has been rock solid in the Limerick defence for the past decade. An outstanding performer who rarely gets the media plaudits.

Happy to see James McCarthy getting so many nods
i wouldnt swap him for another wing back in the country, not a single one
He is a brilliant brilliant footballer
Gets very little mention in the national chat tho

Outside of Dublin a player i think is totally under rated is Clare hurler, John Conlon
the glue in that great clare team

@Monaghan glory Emlyn Mulligan is a class act great play maker can makes things happen can score some great points, and is usually very accurate from frees could easily get on most of the top teams in the country.

I'd say he's a decent fella of the pitch too, Goodluck to Leitrim in the championship lad

Brendan Murphy of Carlow is one name that stands out for me, has always impressed me whenever I've seen him play.

Ger Cafferkey is another who doesn't get mentioned that often but is one of, if not the best full backs in the country.

From my own county, Seamus Kenny has been one of the better players for Meath throughout the recent barren years, very intelligent player who has a great ability to pick up breaking ball.

Donnacha Walsh was good last year
Colm McFadden should've been player in the year in 2012
Alan Freeman but Horan doesn't seem to be a fan
John Galvin
