Brolly's "Baywatch Babe" comment

That was a pretty classy response from her alright.

Why bother lowering yourself to somebody else's standard when instead you can just show them up for what they are.

What a response from Rachel Wyse!
Brolly is caught in possession, he coughs up the ball,
Wyse has it now, she's biding her time, and...
bang, a low shot to the left corner of the net!
Brolly is all at sea; what a goal from Rachel!

I think she made a bit of a meal of it to be honest
relating to sean cavanagh lets be honest cavanagh did commit a cynical tackle on a gaa pitch afterall
so it was hardly outside brollys jurisdiction to give his opinion as he was employed on the programme to do so
where as his comments about her he was not employed to give them they were just a tweet.
thaught she had remained more dignified by ignoring him
but it seems she wanted to gauge the publics opinions and then when they were on her side
decided to have her own dig at him

That's the problem with a lot of Joe's "analysis" though hill, commenting on football is one thing, questioning somebody's manhood and making personal remarks is completely unnecessary, and unfortunately in keeping with a lot of the stuff on the Sunday Game just comes across as attention seeking.

She gave reasoned, articulate response to a guy who had a petty and unprovoked dig at her.

Well played Rachel.

Brolly had every right to comment on the cynical tackle by cavanagh but he went way beyond what was happening on the pitch, he got personal with regards Seans character and what sort of a man he is etc, he has also pretty much said Rachel is only on the sky gaa show because she's a baywatch babe.
However I do agree that's it's been blown out if all proportion but then again everything joe says these days is to get a reaction. The sad thing is joe is as clued in an analyst as there is when he dissects a game but we don't see that from him anymore.

duke-raul

dont think he was actually having a go at her in the whole tweet
more a go at sky sports supposably being the big shots and mecca of sports
but saying all they could do was hire tv3 guys and a good looking girl to front them

If her comments serve to quell , quite or suppress his voice for a minute or an eternity they will have been worthwhile . Very well scripted response by her , by the way.

She writes a column every Saturday in the Indo. So I think saying she 'gauged the public response, seen was in her favour and then went for a dig at him' is a bit unfair. Instead of doing anything different to her normal week, she wrote her normal weekly article about one of the sporting topics of the week. This week it just happened to be herself !
Fair play to her. She's made her point - brilliantly - and it's time everyone moved on.

Good response from Rachel Wyse, Joe got put in his place for a very laddish and foolish comment .

I do think Brolly's wider point about SKY's use of good looking women was largely true but Rachel Wyse is also a knowledgeable sportsperson and competitor in her own right and she does seem to know her stuff so in this instance Brolly was wrong. However to deny that SKY don't use pretty females to score with a largely male audience is just ridiculous; this is Murdoch's empire after all and he has used women to titilate with Page 3 in the SUN etc. We live in a world where visual impressions are the ones that are used to judge and SKY do use that.
