I think brendtheredhand is the bitter one, joe is the most entertaining figure the GAA has ever had, the GAA needs more characters like that

I would have thought being referred to as a baywatch babe would have delighted manys a woman, might as well bring in a vow of silence the way things are going

His general point on female sky reporters is right but the way he singled out Wyse (accidentally or not) was wrong and stupid. Came across very bitter as well, just get on with your own job.

Am I alone in getting tired of Joe Brolly?
As somebody else commented his intellect is second to none, and I really used to enjoy him, but for the last few years its just one publicity rant after another and Im getting fed up listening about him.
Yes what he said about Rachael wyse was harmless enough and the PC brigade are overdoing it, but a man in his position should know its unacceptable . added to the way he spoke about a class act like Sean Cavanagh last year..
Its alright coming out and apologizing after the harm is done, how many times can he do that??ive a feeling he will say something soon that really crosses the line and RTE will realize hes more trouble than hes worth anymore...

Did she ever wear the Baywatch Swimsuit Jimbo... ;o)
_______

She didn't have to wear something like that to look good.. if you know what I mean... 100% classy girl

Very nice person and knowing her and how Brolly described her... he's way off

I suppose the housewives choice is between Lyster, Brolly, Spillane, O'Rourke and Marty Morrissey !
It should split the market haha

Brolly is the epitome of that Emo Philips joke about Catholicism where a little boy prays every night for a new bicycle but then realises the Lord, in his wisdom, doesn't work that way, so he just steals one and begs for forgiveness. It's an old lawyers trick - withdrawing comments, throwing a grenade out there and then apologising. For him it's all for the greater good. The black card, the Sky deal - he will have the final word. It's Joe Brolly's GAA, we just live in it.

I don't get the whole Brolly thing, I just don't find him that funny or interesting, don't get me wrong I love controversial figures, I generally always love the 'bad guys' like Mourinho, Fergie, Clough etc, they're entertaining but Brolly.....meh.

Conor Maginn can count himself lucky for not experiencing Brollys wrath this week. I wonder why though........ah that's right,he plays for Down.

Rachel's response should be to present Sky's opening GAA game in a Baywatch swimsuit.

Joe and his soundbites only appeal to the lads mag generation I'm afraid to say, no offence all you Joe fans out there in GAA land. The three wise monkeys of RTE are slowly but surely beginning to resemble the presenters of top gear, they want to be cool and relevant too.

Sky actually have very good gender balance on their news programmes. Almost always both a male and female presenter except in the wee hours of the night. given that most of the people who watch SSN are male its good marketing to have some attractive presenters. Jim White is a hell of a lot easier to watch with Natalie Sawyer beside him. Jackie Hurley never gets to see the inside of an RTE studio, more likely the underside of the stand in Thurles(hardly gets to watch the match).

yes. agree 100%. that did it for me. It was a sustained personal attack on a man all because of something he did in a football match which let's face it most of us would do in the same circumstances. Fair enough Brolly was entitled to question the rules and lobby for change but to use sean Cavanagh the way he did was unforgiveable.
he tried to lick up to him during his analysis at half time but by the end he was ranting again. He called Tyrone a "mediocre" team.
those kind of remarks do not endear him to me either. We are talking about amateur sportsmen giving their all for the Jersey.
personally I don't mind if Rachel Wyse is presenting GAA as long as she is professional and knockledgable then thats fine. who was the woman who presented some of the GAA ladies matches on TG4 or at least stood out on the pitch, she was nice.
