people werent blowing it out of proportion farney...that hurling final viewership was brilliant for what is a completely nothing sport in british terms on a subscription channel

yeah but most of them people were probably irish watching itsure the all ireland final on rte usually is among the top 3 watched programmes of the year
but they dont get them numbers for the other matches
its an irish thing
just like the late late show and the eurovision compeition or the grand national
people view these things as a tradition for them year in year out

Good, then that means that the huge Irish diaspora weren't disadvantaged by RTE's intransigent position of making thse games available to "Island of Ireland Only". Well done Sky for providing us exiles with the one thing that RTE refused to do for years, coverage of our national games.

I like Skysports for soccer and the like but not Gaelic football. As bad as some of the pundits on RTE are i prefer watching them and that coverage then Skyspots.

Also not every person can splash out on Skysports but it will eventually come to the stage that the majority of games are being shown on SKYSPORTS and it's articifial coverage
Old post but what exactly is artificial about Sky's coverage?

I recently cancelled my Sky Sports subscription as the GAA season has now ended & I'm not interested in EPL & there's no longer Heineken Cup coverage. Might get it back in again next summer :-)

There isn't Heineken cup coverage but Sky do have shared coverage of the new European cup competitions, champions cup/challenge cup

I'm actually doing the same. Lost interest in the premier league and the pro 12 (apart from watching the mighty Leinster) so I'm cancelling it. I will however re-subscribed next summer for their second year of GAA. I thought it was a very successful first year and long may it continue. Delighted I'm no longer forced to watch the circus that is RTE. Their hurling coverage is good but the football is disgraceful.

be better if bt sports had it keeper
as anybody with a horizon box currently has it for free becuase of some mess up at the moment haha
just type in bt sports number think its 429 or something like that and the channell will come on
yet if you go along them just flicking it wont go onto it
or if you click on the channell on tv guide it wont work either but it allows you watch it when you type the number of the channel
