A southsider with a culchie accent...nice fella
It was still more than enough to top what these girls were used to though
As I said... there's a very good reason for the country blood in Dublin
Country girls with taste and intelligence can't get enough of us Dubs...
And who can blame them...

If believing that makes you lads happy to take our cast offs then I am happy to let you believe it!

I actually dont think it makes a bit of difference to teams now about tradition, and bad results against certain teams over the years, it is all on the day now, and these trends are eventually bucked. ie Kerry v Dublin is a case in example, or our run against either armagh or tyrone in recent years. I am sure you guys will have plans to put an end to your losing streak against tyrone, all on the day and all of that., otherwise there is no point in turning up for these games.

Hoganstand team of the week...

4. Gareth McKinless (Derry)

It's a testament to McKinless' performance that Colm McFadden - who was making a record-breaking 150th appearance in the Donegal jersey - had little impact on proceedings in Celtic Park.

.....It may be a testament to Gareth McKinless Hoganstand, but it is even more of a testament to Dermot McBride who was marking McFadden the entire game!

Casts offs... more like go getters man...

Career women that want the very best for themselves, who want to achieve... you want to succeed, educated women with ambition...

They don't want to settle for net curtains and apple pie and big Joe "white sock wearing" O'Toole

We get all the very best culchie DNA here in Dublin... and boy do we exploit it.

Sure don't they just love us Dubs... popping them out, all instantly becoming 100% Dub....

We have setup a breeding program here in the capital...and all we have to do his throw out the Dub charm and wit... bingo.

It's like a moth to a flame man...

Your women cant get enough of us chief... no wonder we have a nice drop of culchie DNA in us... we're a product of our own irresistible charm

;)

Lol yeah it's that charming northside Dublin brogue that gets them swooning jimbo!

I once told a bird from Malahide that my family "owned" one of the islands off the coast of Donegal and that we simply used it as our isolated getaway. How it was a wonderful haven of tranquility away from the hustle and bustle of Dublin city life. Of course she was welcome to join me for a weekend away if it ever took her fancy.

Three words:

Hook. Line. Sinker.

Plenty of his ball playing comes from his Ma's side sure. It's on that side all the talent was.

Most Dubs are a composite of Celt, Viking Norman, Anglo etc.

As are most culchies too.

There is an element within the GAA that I believe look at the rules of the game(particularly new rules)and immediately devise a way around breaking them. The problem for the GAA is that in football in particular there is still no definition of a tackle and consequently each referees interpretation of these rules is different. The referee on Sunday never punished Donegal for consistently fouling around the 45 we thought the black was introduced to eradicate this. We also like to think of the game as physical yet players dive in Gaa matches at the drop of a hat (Sean Cavanagh's dive vs Down probably cost them the match)M Murphy earned a pt for Donegal with a dive after he lost control of the ball as he advanced on goal. There were at least three choke tackles executed against Derry. I have no complaint with result of game just frustration with rules and their application. D mc Bride fell over the ball against Down and Down tackler standing over him gets penalised for doing nothing' Tyrone score from resultant free and build up. So therfore can someone explain to me how on other occasions six players are allowed to surround an attacker pummel ,slap and use their knees to keep him on ground is apparently legal.

i see some of the Monaghan fans are getting excited, and they have not played a game yet, have they forgotten they have Tyrone, yes Tyrone, then Armagh or Cavan before they get to the final, here s me thinking they wished it was not Tyrone, and even if they survive, they are saying please God not Cavan, oh please no, no

Donegal will do just fine so long as they don't meet monaghan

I wouldn't be so sure this year, I stated after the Div 2 final that Donegal will probably beat Monaghan if they meet in Ulster in the summer.
Why? Because they got a chanced to size you up in that Div 2 final. Donegal seen Monaghan go all out to win silverware in the wide open spaces of Croke Park, and Donegal seem to do well when they have time to focus on one team who they really want to beat.

A friend of the family told me that MD MacCauley has relations in Lifford, Co Donegal. I think his father is from there.

Ha! fair enough.

It's just a pity for St. James' Gaels that Paddy went wandering and didn't stay at home! ;)

Couple of things about this, one is that we were going to try and win that game too, we brought on players after 20 minutes which would suggest that we were there for the silverware too. Also, we have the same amount of time available to size up the opposition as they have us, which gives us no better or worse advantage over other teams. The team jmg is sizing up now is the winner of fermanagh and antrim. After that, the sizing up will be about tyrone, monaghan, armagh or cavan provided we are still in the ulster competition. there is utterly no point in playing favorites with any of those teams in terms of guessing who we might or might not play later this year, one game at a time and all that..
