Any season tickets holders receive communication from GAA about their tickets yet?

I've been reading a lot of threads and all the negativity about the Donegal Camp and the pessimistic Views' even by Some Donegal Fans.

Is it really' all doom and Gloom..? Last year Jim got criticism for not taking the league seriously' and apart from the Tyrone game 'I think there was some evidence that proves a good league Campaign can get you warmed up for the Championship. That said' and apart from the massive effort against Tyrone' Donegal Seemed burned out.We had a fairly decent league campaign this year and got the promotion that was the objective from the start. However i would agree that we did go out and try and win the league final against Monaghan. We didnt' but it wasnt the be all and end all.

Derry had a Great league ' But I think they put there all into the league to try and get some silverware ' up against Countys that were not taking it all that serious' that was until they met Dublin in the final which in all reality was Men against boys.
Yes We took a trimming from Mayo last year but as already stated Donegal were flat. Derry on the other hand were apparently "Flying" this year but were shot down in great style by the mighty Dubs.

Dont get me wrong I think Derry are making great strides under Mciver and no doubt will be a force two or three years down the line' but for me not this year.Derry know Celtic park like the back of there hands' and i dont think it needs pointed out that every one of there championship games where played there last year. Playing at home should naturally give any team a slight advantage but when the masses of Green and Gold descend on the Bog/Brandywell i think it matters little about home advantage as was displayed by Down yesterday.

Mchugh's absence is slightly worrying as will big Neils presence in the centre of the park' but other than that this is a team that went all the way in 2012 and I have know doubt will give a good account of itself next Sunday and come away with a win.
That said Derry certainly are due a win against us an will rightly feel very confident coming into the game.If they do win it then I wish them well and hope they can go on and win Ulster.

I see a lot of cocky Monaghan posters being active on here.I really hope we get another crack at youse this year and hope it will be in the Ulster final. Dont forget youse used the Donegal system as a template to beat us last year' "Donegal being out Donegaled" and all that. We wont be as lethargic this time around.Of course Im only speculating' but its certainly not beyond the realms of impossibility that we met again. We will concentrate on Derry First though.

Donegal by 5 0r 6 points with Murphy and Mc Fadden on Fire.

Could be a high scoring game. I can see 5 or 6 goals looking at both full forward and full back lines.

Don't think we can read into the Monaghan game. No doubt Donegal trained hard in La Manga and I'm sure their S&C coach was building up to the championship, therefore their bodies wouldn't have been ready then for championship pace. On Sunday no doubt they will. Derry need to at the very least match the pace shown against Dublin in Celtic park in the league.

Won't jinx anything with predictions. Derry lack a left footed free taker, could be an issue!

I fancy Donegal. Derry have had a good campaign so far but Donegal have more potential and I watched Derry vs Dublin and Derry was not up to scratch.

I dont know what to expect re scores, it could be very low scoring indeed, as was the first half yesterday. It all will depend on the first few efforts from Derry, if they fly over the bar we could be in trouble. If they dont get the start then we could thrive. I dont think we miss much in the early stages of a game, it is as the first half wears on that we seem to get bogged down in our own half, contained in our own half. But if that is the tactic and it works on the day then so be it. I dont think derry fancy a defensive side. But they are very very lively and dangerous this year. I hope it is a good game.

A lot of people are mentioning the fact Derry are at home as being a big advantage. But this game is like a home game for donegal and if what I'm hearing is correct donegal will outnumber Derry in support 2/3 to 1. Derry clubs didn't even use their full allocation of tickets with them going on general sale at owenbeg donegal clubs went looking to the ulster council for extra tickets.

I don't think playing in Celtic park will be that big an advantage in fact they play a lot of their games in owenbeg now. I think if donegal can get enough quality ball into their full forwards they will win the game.

I'd also start toye in midfield with mcelhinney and I would have Eamon McGee marking lynch and Lacey

Good point ringerbell. I didnt realize that derry would be so badly supported, but there you go. That is bound to be a help to our lads from the get go. I would disagree with you about toye. I think that he was totally off the boil v monaghan last day out and had to be taken off. The championship will be an even bigger jump up. He is an excellent man to bring on and to distribute, link and score, but to start at mid field, that is a big ask against a very powerful mid field from derry. I would see donegal trying to play without a midfield, in terms of support play this is going to be one exhausting afternoon for the players. I hope it is not too hot a day. We will see.

Don't know if it will or not. When tickets 1st went on sale they sold 2000 online in space of a day and we were told no more would go on sale online. Both counties got an allocation of roughly 5500 with clubs in donegal getting under 4000 of our allocation. Derry still haven't sold their full allocation where donegal have got more tickets (if what I've heard is true) they are now back available on tickets.ie. donegal will have a massive support in Derry which I think will make home advantage count for very little

It's not a huge ground, 12-13,000 or so so I's say it will be close enough to a sell out. Last year's first round game between Donegal & Tyrone caused all sorts of controversy with many saying that at 18,000, Ballybofey wasn't big enough.
Mind you, that was then & this is now.

This game could hinge on the fitness or otherwise of Neil Gallagher.
Already without the suspended Rory Kavanagh, Donegal can ill afford to be without their two first choice midfielders.

After the miserable end to Donegals reign of champions last August,I feel if they get beaten by Derry on Sunday it will just about finish them off.Id fancy Derry to respond better to having to go through the qualifier route.Huge game for Jimmy and his troops.

who ever wants this game the most, will win, cant see much in it at the end, could be another draw, Derry pushing on, Donegal getting a draw last minute, through, Michael Murphy, Colm Mc Fadden, Donegal minors to advance.

Don't know about high scoring could be something like 10 points to 9 or 12 to 1-8 We don't know but will JIM have a new plan, if we don't have our first choice midfield he might alter tactics. It's hard to call. But I think that Derry, Donegal and Down are ahead of the pact. I can't see Tyrone winning Ulster ,Cavan, at least a year too soon and don't think they will beat Armagh, in fact I tip Armagh to win. Monaghan can beat Donegal but can they beat the teams that they have to play before they can get to an Ulster final. It's all right saying we Beat Donegal last year and in the Div 2 final ,this is a different year plus it's hard to defend an Ulster title. Then you have McManus's injuries and he will be a massive loss. Donegal has a lot to prove Sunday , they might prove it and on Sunday night they could look likely winners of Ulster again. So we have two massive games again in Ulster this weekend, really interesting games and hard to know who will win, Down I fancy to beat Tyrone and I hope Ulster green and gold mob pull it off on Sunday. Not going back for the game but nice to hear we will have plenty of support Sunday. Best of luck Donegal and the supporters and to all GAA fans hope we have a few good games this weekend

One team on the up the other trying to prove they are no one hit wonders , I see it being very tight , cagey and nervous , similar to Sunday expect some second half when legs tire and mistakes get made , could be value in second draw in Ulster .

Says on wiki that it holds 22k. Are you sure it's not more than 12k?

You are quite right Jack, that is what it does say, Maybe I'm mistaken but I always thought it was one of the smaller grounds.
There have only been about 12,000 tickets printed so maybe the Derry lads could help us out here.

Before the League Finals it looked set to be a sell out.

Since then I'd say the demand has dropped slightly.

It will be close to a sell out, I cant believe that derry clubs are returning tickets. That is not what you would expect from a team on the up and from the north.
