Do Meath fear the Dubs?

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

If ever there was a silly post this is it. Why should Meath or any team for that matter fear Dublin? Of course Dublin are a very good team but they are not unbeatable. Manchester City who won the Premiership this year were beaten 3 - 2 by Cardiff who finished bottom of the League. So any team can be beaten but they must go out believing they can win.

Sure we never took 'winning' that seriously anyway.

Royal dunne, settle now. I couldn't care less where the individual that started the thread is from. It is ridiculous with no substance or relevance to anything to do with our great game and more importantly our rivalry.

No, no way, Meath would never fear Dublin, in fact Meath in the summer, croke park, will not be too far away, ok Dublin are the stand out team, will take a good team to beat them, but anything can happen, and its not too long ago Meath got a few goals against Dublin,in croke park, Dublin are up there to be beaten and no better team than Meath to do it to their neighbours.on a hot summers day in croke park, all the pressure will be on Dublin, any team to beat Dublin in Leinster then it would be Meath.

There is some serious rose tinted glasses going on here re meath score lines v dublin. Last year, Meath gave dublin a good game for the first half. I would even say that dublin were all over meath for the entire second half, if it wernt for some wayward shooting they would have been 7 points clear with about 20 minutes to go rather than 3.

In the second half we were only a point or two down and Meath squandered a few decent goal chances. I know Dublin had chances too but you act like it was all one way. If Meath had of scored a few goals and took a nice lead coming into the last 10mins they could of held on. The only one with rose tinted glasses is you I'm afraid!

Meath fear not being relevant

And that's exactly what this current Dubs team is forcing upon them.

listen there is no doubt that dublin are the best team around meath will always respect dublin but never fear them in my time games between the 2 sides have always been close no matter who has been in the ascendancy barring 95 and 2010. its true facing dublin can be a daunting task but thats what top players relish

I don't get this thing of "Meath don't fear Dublin Dublin are just better". Sure Kilkenny footballers can say that "ah we don't fear the Dubs there just better than us". Of course they fear us everyone fears us right now we our amazing.

Waste of time this thread, they're never going to admit it now are they? But deep down inside they're ******** it, they know a bad beating is gonna happen soon. This ain't the 1980s, Meath are a nobody now!

I'm sorry but no Meath supporter fears the dubs. We know we'll play above ourselves and come up short as usual. Fact is Dublin play in a province of nobodys. Does that make you feel better that a once great and exciting competition is now the equivalent of the Leinster hurling championship 5 years ago?

Ah now Jack_Goff, you see the little smiley face at the end of my post, it denotes that I'm having the craic in slagging off the old enemy. Don't worry, your turn will come, hopefully not in my lifetime but it will come :)

Well I always have a fear of losing to Meath. Hate the though of the possibility of losing to them. Since Tayto sponsored Meath I boycott eating the crisps in the lead up to a Meath match.
It has worked so far....:)

Dublin are the best team in the country at the minute but its only 4 years since we humiliated them in Croke Park.

See there is the problem. Its now 2014. Quit living in the past. Kerry won the AI hurling final in the 1890s but I their chances of bringing Liam to the Kingdom this year are non existent.
