Do Meath fear the Dubs?

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

I would say the Dubs are be more likely to fear Meath. Every Dub going out to play against Meath will be aware of 1991 and the events of those 4 games when Meath just wouldnt go away. This would have to play on the minds of every Dublin player as they line out against the famous green and gold.

Some of the current Dublin squad weren't even born in '91. It's doubtful they pay any heed to those 4 epic games.

Of course they fear them. Dublin are about 3 tiers ahead of them.

Fair enough man.

I suppose the reason is the amount of games yous get to play in Croker. Really getting an unfair advantage over the rest of the country there…..

Dublin fear meath are you kidding, Meath have beaten Dublin once in the Championship in the last 12 years. Some of this Dublin team were not even born in 1991. The young Dublin players in this team have grown up not knowing what it is like to lose to meath. Dublin have beaten meath in the last 2 leinster finals without even playing well. All this crap of Meath not given up, not fearing the dubs will always raise there game against the dubs have only seen it once since 2001.

Theres no giles, lyons, fay, geraghty, murphy, McDermott, coyle, O'Rourke snr, Flynn, dowd, Stafford in this meath team they were players who would give you sleepless nights. Nobody of that calibre of player in this current Meath team.

Hey I believe in my county aswell, I believe we will rise again but you can't put a time scale on it, you just never know when it'll happen, but anyway it's about bloody time we had a new 1991!

In fairness Giles, Geraghty, Murphy, McDermott, O'Connell, Fay…… they could've put the fear into any team.

Those that have come after have done nothing in comparison and haven't scared any sides really.

(Last time Meath had a home championship game was 1995).

Thats not true.

Meath played Galway in 2011 i think it was in a qualifier in Navan.

Both correct technically, our last Leinster Championship game in Navan was on a day of torrential showers in 1995 v Offaly, however we have played qualifiers there over the years and the last pair of games was against Galway & Kildare in 2011, the crowds at which prompted the health & safety whiplashers to shut down half of Pairc Tailteann for the following year

meath will allways believe they have a chance against the dubs, therefore its the dubs that should fear meath

This thread is silly. Do meath fear Dublin. For christ sake if they do sure there is no point in playing for your county. It is a natural development for any meath footballer to play the Dubs a few times in the careers. Think this really shows that meath fans are starting to develop an inferiority complex about the Dubs.

The exuberance of some has taken this thread off topic, question asked do Meath fear Dublin, answer is no, irregardless of how poor a shape were in or how good a shape the Dubs are in we go out and play them, we might win or they might win by big margins or small but Meath do not fear Dublin, the worth of numerous Meath footballers has been set by their performances against Dublin some even in defeat, so no Meath do not fear Dublin just as Dublin do not fear Meath that's just the way things are between them

Adamski. I think you'll find the thread was started by a Mayo man. Nothing to do with Meath.
No Meath player ever feared Dublin and never will.
