Agree Muckross, constant whining puts you off, guess the president just had enough of it

Muckross has it nailed on
If Tyrone didnt give the ref so much to be watching, they wouldnt get so much wrong
For a manager who's players like a fall when it suits them, he sure gives out a lot

Sorry Brend and the Tyrone lads, but it is true

No Liam, that is not TRUE, that is of course your OPINION, much like messrs Harte, Brolly and O'Neill are enitled to offer, whether or not you agree or like what they have to say. Try not to get what is opinion and what is fact/truth confused Liam, it tends to cloud the debate.

Was very confident heading into the game last weekend I thought we would win the game by 7 or 8 points, no disrespect to down but I don't think they are a good side average at best in my opinion. I think Tyrone have potential as the team is full if the minor winning sides of 08 and 2010 but how much longer are these lads going to wait before they take the bull by the horns so to speak, watching some of them you wonder are they aware they step playing for Tyrone. I think the talent is there but talent means nothing without application. I think we will beat down Saturday evening and beat them well on Saturday, playing in newry won't mean a thing I actually prefer Tyrone playing anywhere but Omagh our record in championship games is poor. Down had their chance, if they were serious about winning that gamevytenbthst last free should have been put over but alas it went wide and the famine goes into it's 21st year.

large portions of the southern media would have preferred Kerry to have cleaned the boards of All Irelands in the noughties, rather than delight that Ireland at last had a genuine challenger.

I would say that is true, but not for the reasons you seem to be insinuating. Kerry played the football people wanted to watch, tyrone didn't. Journos are fans too behind it all. It is the natural reaction to support a team who play in a way that appeals to them. You say the southern media were biased against tyrone, I would say they were just rooting for the team that was more appealing to them. If the roles were reversed there isn't a doubt in my mind that they would be rooting for tyrone - the fact they they were rooting for Donegal against Kerry, cork etc. supports this. In fact, it is, in my opinion, the northern media who were the biased ones, when they turned a blind eye to the obvious methodical cynical approach that tyrone employed, and instead painted them as the victim. 'Tyrone is treated unfairly, you are all against them'. Actually, no, we just didn't like the negative ethos they brought into the game.

Certain dive a wee bit alright

But sure there's plenty of counties that do the same... but for some reason Tyrone does stand out a wee bit IMO

I watch a lot of Tyrone on the box and since Morgan has gained their number 1 spot...I've noticed it a lot more

TheMaster - I think the reason why you give Tyrone such a hard time is a roundabout way of excusing Mayo's performances against Kerry in the 2004 and 2006 finals - "oh at least we played football the right way", that kind of thing. Maybe I'm wrong but I definitely think there's an element of that.

I think you are right there MichaelO, but sure haven't we been listening to that from Down fans for the past 20 years too.

Ah sure don't you know CD that RTE will only show it if they can piggy back off BBC coverage, thats how they operate these days.

Unchanged team then for Down, is wee James bluffing with this one? Would have to imagine that Coulter will come off the bench but I would have expected one or two of the other subs to have been pushing for inclusion. Harte's selections tonight will be interesting, would expect to see a couple of defensive changes and some tactical switches.

Just had a look at both websites- BBC and RTE both saying it's on radio only.

Disgrace.

The replay in 2008 wasn't on tv either. What a shame that was, probably the most entertaining game I've never witnessed! Was nice to come out the right side of the result that night, only to go out in the semi-final. Typical Down.
