A medal representing ALL rather than SOME is far more valuable jimbodub (Dublin) - Posts: 20608 - 08/04/2014 17:17:52 1572503 Link 0 |

Depends on the person and the situation their club/county is in. The gooch would probably rather an all ireland club medal... TheMaster (Mayo) - Posts: 16187 - 08/04/2014 17:23:31 1572513 Link 0 |

In fairness a All Ireland is far more likely for him with Mayo then with his own club, Ballinrobe. Well, provided they dont get relegated to inter.. Jimmy192 (Mayo) - Posts: 107 - 08/04/2014 19:34:48 1572594 Link 0 |
I think it depends on the player really. Conor Gormley would be known as a club man for example though I'd like to think he cares about Tyrone too heh. MichaelO (Tyrone) - Posts: 820 - 08/04/2014 19:40:50 1572597 Link 0 |

People address this question using players opinions , anecdotes , to back up their own argument , simple their telling the thruth when their with you , and appeasing the populous when they disagree , its become the Sophie's choice of the day , second only to the other most annoying question on HS , hurling or football . I think if guys are honest they would say an inter-county AI, no one likes to talk down what their club means to them, it's like insulting your family :) realdub (Dublin) - Posts: 8603 - 09/04/2014 10:11:07 1572736 Link 0 |

I think once a fella has been involved at senior inter county level for a few years and are main stays in the panel, ( not team) they couldn't care less about their clubs or the lads who they have played with all of their lives and who helped them reach that level. They become selfish if you like and really only want to win an All ireland for themselves and not the county. daytona11 (Kildare) - Posts: 4012 - 09/04/2014 12:21:35 1572826 Link 0 |
Fair enough Damo, I'm just basing my post on people I know/knew in the game but that's not to say that there isn't those who would put club honours first. I know which one I would rather have won! realdub (Dublin) - Posts: 8603 - 09/04/2014 12:22:24 1572829 Link 0 |
AI Club is all about bringing intense joy to your local area and there is a beauty to that. It will never be forgotten in that parish and its the ultimate reward for the locality. sportsfan14 (USA) - Posts: 281 - 09/04/2014 12:31:45 1572835 Link 0 |

It dosnt matter what the competition is or the game. Winning is what matters. I just finished playing this year. My biggest regret. I didnt win more. If you are even partly serious about GAA you want to win everything. Top of that list is AI medal(Senior intercounty). jpcampion (Laois) - Posts: 194 - 10/04/2014 09:16:30 1573228 Link 0 |
