GAA cult hero

Hmmm, interesting question, difficult to figure out who would have cult status, as opposed to legendary status (like your John Doyle's, Nicky English's etc). For Tipp, people like Donie O'Connell maybe (having a killer moustache always helps)? Or Joe Hayes?
In the 90's, the tantalizingly rubenesque Paul Shelly definitely held some sort of magnetism for the Tipp faithful, that may qualify for this type of categorization.

For Antrim folk, would Olcan McFetridge fall into this category? Or even the mighty Niall Patterson?

Spot on JD. Cloot and Neilly, add in Woody, Sambo and Hippy - Antrim doesn't do Christian names

Add PJ O'Hare (Scoby) and Andy McCallin for the footballers

Uncle was with the hurling management in the 70s so had a birds eye view from the dugout! One day, one of the Holdens was done by a Limerick player and the rest of the brothers who were subs went to ambush the perpetrator on his way to the dressing room at half time :-)

Olcan McFetridge of Antrim his goal against Offaly catapulted him up there for me at that time.

I suppose looking back my heroes in hurling when I was young were from other counties as Id only get to see the Dubs 3 or 4 times a year so the Dublin lads would probably be the cult heroes!! John Twomey was an awesome hurler and the great MJ Ryan and Brian McMahon, I though it was the greatest thing ever when he won an all star as it was new to me for a Dub to get a hurling award
