This Sunday Armagh v Louth is in Drogheda and its all-ticket due to the poor state of the ground and not because everyone wants to be there,

but for Armagh to only get 1,250 tickets is beyond a joke, Now for 30yrs we know the Louth County Board can't get their act together and provide a decent venue, roughly 9 -10,000 people....
should they loose home advantage if they can't provide a decent venue..

No. He is a Cork man actually and he's very proud of it.

Louth are due to play Meath on the last game of the league in Drogheda, although Navan needs a lot of work done, the capacity is much bigger,so expect this fixture to be switched to Navan..

From all I've heard about the pitch in Drogheda, I'm actually looking forward to seeing how bad it is with my own eyes on Sunday.

Healy Park Omagh is probably one of the worst surfaces in Tyrone, in bad weather. The whole place lacks atmosphere, wide open with constant gales blowing through it.

Drogheda is the worst county ground end of it would not make a top ten in most other counties.

OLLIE there's a wee bit of Louth in me, the grandfather had a farm outside Louth village many, many years ago!!!! Always have a soft spot for Louth and considering that Dundalk is our main town from our part of South Armagh, will always look out for Louth and remember when Louth beath Kildare in the 1991 championship - great result in a packed Drogheda. But this is getting away from the point... the ground is awful, there a cub grounds which aren't county standard in better shape, but does this matter, Drogheda hasn't improved since that great day in '91..
Louth is the smallest county in Ireland but they have 2 of the largest towns in the country in Dundalk and Drogheda.
Can you imagine of this game was promoted, the 'Derby' game in a beautiful modern ground - it would be full - last year Louth took a very good support with them to Armagh, - but will the same supporters be able to gain access to the game on Sunday due to the fact that louth are given 1,250 tickets

1. we aren't promoting the game by agreeing to sub-standard facilities
2.I have friends with the Pat's and Cooley they are sitting at home and watching the rugby as they cant get a ticket -
3. we aren't looking at a 20,000 stadium but a decent 10,000 ground which will help promote the game, kids in louth will only have a certain amount of games to watch but as far as i know all their home games are all -ticket

AND sentanta was from Louth crossed the border into s. armagh killed the hound of ulster and became cuchulainn - !!

Cuchulainn I agree with you one hundred per cent. Its a joke at this stage. I have been to plenty of GAA grounds in the country and then when you see Drogheda its an embarrassment. Look at your grounds in Armagh city. That is some job.
