Limerick to beat Wexford
Cavan to beat Sligo
Longford to beat offaly
Fermanagh to beat Roscommon

I still believe Cavan are overrated,Their only notable win in the Championship last year was
against Derry.Plenty of mid tier teams would have ended up in a quarter final if they had Cavans
draw. That said they will more than likely go up but I dont think they will remain unbeaten.

Ah J---s thats what I like to hear from the Rossies. I agree the Rosssies are roaring hot favourites to win the Div. and probably to win the Coonaught Championship. Cant see Mayo living with them!!!
As for our boys you are probably right. What have we won over the last few years. Beat Derry up in Celtic Park - nothing special. Won 3 U21 Ulster titles in a row - nothing special in a bad province!! Won our 3 Lge games - nothing special!!

Yes Brownred nothing special no more than ourselves.
The qualifiers is a lucky dip.Im sure if Cavans two Chanpionship games last year were against Mayo and Tyrone
they would have ended up in Croke park?

Galway have more Underage success than Cavan too...

yep Salvador...... An aging team, Cavan.... nothing special and declining too

seriously apart from your uninformed comment, Roscommon are looking better than Cavan at this point, Evans doing a good job with an improving pool of players.
Cavan have more Young players as a % of the squad so will continue to take time to improve (last year was surprising to me as it really was too soon I thought for them). The do have to address some issues - scoring power, correct starting 15 - a lot of chopping and changing going on etc.

2 good U21 teams this year too

But Rossies have shown an ability to blow up before.....as have Cavan !
and it is easier to win trophies in the west than in the north so Cavan will need to improve to have a crack a UFC whereas Rossies not by much really to contest a provincial final and win

we will see...

John Evans

"The big thing about this league is that the middle game shows you where you are. It will decide where you're going to go, so next Sunday in Fermanagh becomes hugely important now. "

We have lost on our last three visits to Fermanagh 2005,2010,2013 with the Quigleys in flying form and our defence less than tight a win for Fermanagh won't be surprising, make no mistake we'll have to be at our very best to win this game.

Average age of our team last Sunday was 23.

We have to face Mayo away in the opening round and i don't think i need to point out how strong underage football has been in Connacht over the last number of years.

Are people rating Cavan that highly? I don't think so personally. People had Cavan and Roscommon down as the favourites for the Division before the year started and it's working out that way so far. We've had a fantastic 12 months and last year's run was no doubt assisted by getting London in the Final round of the Qualifiers but we still had to go to Celtic Park and beat Derry who had won Division 2, something I don't think "plenty" of teams would have done.
I don't think we'll remain unbeaten either, if you offered me snatching second place through scoring difference right now I'd bite your hand off. We do seem to be making more of our underage talent than Roscommon and certainly Galway which is good to see.

@giveballaghback

In fairness i got the other three results right wins for Sligo,Longford and Cavan. Roscommon's form has caught me on the hop however you will be happy to hear i'm going for Fermanagh win this weekend.

Fermanagh v Roscommon - the Quigleys to provide an much needed two points to the home side
Cavan v Sligo - Cavan by about 4-6 points
Offaly v Longford - local derbies can go either way but Sean McCormack will prove the difference Longford by 3
Limerick v Wexford - tough game to call both sides off the back of damaging defeats, Wexford by 1 point

Interesting comment. I do not agree Cavan are making more of their talent.
1)Roscommon sit on top of division 3 having hammered Limerick and Wexford. Cavan have made hard work of beaiting teams they are clearly superior to.
2)Yes Cavan got to the quarter final but were hockeyed by Kerry despite the scoreline. Roscommon played Both an all-Ireland semi finalist and finalist.
3) Cavan do NOT have players as good as Kilbride or Cregg (Or even shine).

Looking forward to playing ye. If we beat Fermanagh we will be pretty much promoted whether or not we beat ye. Cannot see Offaly or Sligo touching Roscommon based on that 1st half.

Cian Mackey, Eugene Keating and a fully fit Gearoid McKiernan make that comment look utterly foolish.

Cavan's first win came in 2011 at underage level, reached the final due to a good draw and got hammered in the final. 3 more titles at Minor and U21 without a win outside Ulster. Roscommon had an All Ireland Winning side in 2006 and better more competitive sides in U21 and Minor since that time than Cavan. Yet we both languish in Division 3. To Roscommon's credit they snatched a Connacht title but nobody can argue that was pure luck of the draw and Sligo thinking they had the hard work done. Cavan have had a hell of a lot less to work with than Roscommon in my view and I wouldn't consider Roscommon to be all that far ahead of us at the moment. That's why I think we have made more of our underage talent.

Did we make hard work of Offaly or Wexford? Both solid enough, if unspectacular, victories if you ask me. Let's not forget we put 2-20 up on ye in 2010 in the first round of the league. It won't mean much come summer time, same way the hammering ye gave us in the final round of the league didn't stop us going out and hammering Armagh.

I'll not get into the measuring contest of who has the better players. I will say that I'd love to have Kilbride and Donie Smith looks like a player. Ye can hold on to the rest.

Two counties doing things the right way though and I really hope Roscommon come good.

Lads will you cool the jets, over the year i have seen great respect between Cavan and Roscommon. If we are to get promoted i hope its Cavan that join us as like ourselves huge work has been put in at underage level and both deserve to be playing at higher level.
