Predictions for winner of NFL Division 1?

As an aside - had Derry played the team they did today against Mayo in League proper, then Tyrone would have been in the semi finals.

First of all, hats off to Dublin, they were outstanding and no amount of talk about what happened to Cork should deflect from what was a powerhouse Championship type performance. If Dublin can keep reproducing today's display they will win the All-Ireland at a canter. No doubt at all in my mind about that. Regarding Cork, they are not as good as they looked last week against Kerry and not as bad as they looked 2nd half today. In second half they panicked, their legs turned to jelly and their brains were scrambled. How they react to this second half hammering will determine their long term credentials.

I was almost embarrassed sitting there at half-time, thinking, not another 30 odd minutes of this. Very strange game but my word, Diarmuid Connolly is some player!

DC was magnificent in the second half today. He just grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck and dragged us back into it. I felt sorry for the Cork backs as they were facing wave after wave of Dublin attacks and then Dublin call in Bernard. Jayzus that's got to be a psychological hammer blow to any under pressure back line. Cork midfield fell apart once Flynner and DC dropped into that middle sector. Another Dublin game without a black card. Hayes must be getting worried now when he is struggling to back up his cynical team claims. Hardly think there was a tackle today worthy of the label from either team. Cork will be back no doubt though.

Same old cork....can't stand up to the big teams...have a complete soft centre

Poor performance from our lads today...looked tired, no fight, seemed tone running around with paint cans tied to our boots...really off the pace.
Poor decision making, the usual suspects running into tackles and loosing the ball again, poor shot selection and defence cut wide open.
Weave also lost our ability to tackle and reduce to pulling down the opposition with one hand, headless chicken stuff.

Plenty to think about and work on...I think we will improve come championship but major doubts still hang over his team now....three tough years and no all Ireland.

I think our backs where feeling the same in the first half.

1574566 There was a gale blowing into me face on the hill today. It was a huge factor people around me were in agreement we'd get back into it but I never envisaged handing cork a hammering! Great stuff up the dubs.

Have to say I felt the same, I thought we would win the second half , but I didn't envisage such a dominant display. We are playing with the hunger a team going for its first All Ireland in many years has.

Ulsterman, going back to what you asked earlier regarding the crowd and atmosphere, very poor crowd, as I expected and little or no atmosphere until the last 15 mins or so.

We have to remind ourselves, this is the league and these games will be forgotten very soon.

Derry's performance was just as impressive as Dublin's but they are not getting as much praise which will suit them. They will go into the final as massive underdogs and lambs to the slaughter in the Dubs own Colosseum; well Derry may very well turn out to be Spartacus. There's nothing that Ulster sides in Croker like better than over confident, cocky, arrogant Dubs.

realdub,

I was very surprised at the sparse crowd especially on the Hill. I thought there would have been maybe 40/50000+ crowd there given the loyalty of the Dubs fanbase. I am not trying to wind up but maybe the two games on SKY had something to do with that or maybe success is breeding familiarity with the fans? You can bet that many of the fans there today will be at the final also but if Dublin get to the All Ireland final they will miss out as usual or is the loyalty scheme still in operation?

Derry wont get within 15 points of Dublin UM ;)

The reason that Dublin are getting more praise it because no one like Northern Irish people...

Yes ulsterman, I'd say the soccer had a part to play but there is minimum interest in the league here in Dublin!

Congrats to Dublin and Derry on reaching the final. what a fantastic come back by Dublin. Was I surprised? No.
I have to take heart from our first half performance. Mid field dominated, Hurley was electric with the ball in hand and gave ROC a roasting.
Thought our defense was comfortable and we forced Dublin into shooting from awkward angles.
Then came the inevitable onslaught from Dublin. I still felt we had enough of a lead to hold on, but boy was I wrong.
For me the rebound off the upright which resulted in the goal was the catalyst.
I watched through covered eyes as blue wave after blue wave tore us to shreds, and there was nothing we could do to stem it.
Sitting in the Hogan stand yesterday and watching this Dublin team explode was frightening.
Who can stop them???? No one in my opinion. It's their AI to loose.

a really good team, i remember some analysts on radio kerry after last years semi and final refer to dublin more or less as gym monkeys and athletes. from what ive seen over the last 3 years or so is that theyre every bit the natural footballer with the odd exception like McAuley.

congrats to Dublin. We were blown away in the second half. It is disappointing to go from 11 up to 7 down in 30 minutes. It is disappointing to lose a league semi final ( I would prefer a league over a Munster title). However, yesterday we couldn't cope with the intensity of the Dubs when they upped the tempo - however, rather than be tough on Cork, I doubt any other team could have either. 30 minutes aside yesterday, this has been a good league for Cork. I just hope we can learn something from how we lost yesterday. If we can, we can look forward to the championship with optimism.
