Dublin biting again??

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

My goodness if 8 weeks is all that is believed warranted for such an offence then I'm more worried about the GAA's disciplinary system than ever. Again the totally wrong signal being sent out by the powers that be, far far too lenient

Also Jim, accusing me of cyber-bullying is some call and wrong of you in the modern age and all that goes with the "cyber-bullying" theme these days, to be accused of it on an open forum is wrong and i would appreciate it if you would take it back. I absolutely reject that FFS!

If however people agree with Jimbo and think I am some kinda cyber bully then i will gladly take my leave and be gone.
All joking aside, its a hell of an accusation and one i wont take lightly Jimbo

Why the hell are we still using weeks as a form of punishment? 8 matches it should be!

No Jimbo

fella uses anonymous forum to more or less name the dub players he thinks is involved in a dispicable act, as some attempt to show everyone how "in the know" he is as a few other Dubs here have also alluded to
turns out he knows nothing but many people on here would have taken him at his word and been telling their relatives and friends for the last 2 weeks that a certain player is going around biting people...
And he isnt!

But hey, sure poor ol Wayno...he just made a mistake.....

BS
______

Sorry Liam but I still think you're going way over the top as to the level of importance of Wayno's post

As far as I know... It wasn't used as evidence, it didn't hit national papers, it wasn't on the TV

I also think that you are in fact bordering on cyber bullying and I stand by it 100%

Proper drama queen stuff from Liamwalkinstwon. But not much to say about the actual incident itself I see.

I was wrong to say a players number.

I read the report after the match and the report suggested that the incident resulted in players from both sides being booked, The only incident in that second half when it happened involved the Dublin player whose number i put up.

Turns out it was a reckless and silly thing to do. I'm sorry to the Dublin posters here who read this. Careless in the extreame.

I offer no excuses. It was just a silly thing to do.

Jim, Thanks for your post in response to Liam, But the guy isnt cyber-bullying, He is one person on here who basically disagrees with everything i say and lets me know that. In this case he certainly does have a point to what he said, I dont agree with the people here not liking me cause i dont believe opinions can be formed of a person based on an internet forum.

Now as for the ban, Not long enough. Simply not long enough and i hope the Dublin county board put a message out to not only their own players, but to the GAA, That biting is simply not acceptable in any way shape or form, And that a longer suspension (Next calendar year maybe) be handed out. Jason is a nice guy but was completely out of order. He should definitely have a future with the Dubs in my opinion, But not this year, Unfortunately for him he needs to be made an example of.

He got 8 weeks. It's been dealt with... very disappointed that he's brought this level of attention on himself and Dublin GAA by doing something so low.

Last year the Sunday game was full of theme selves about Tyrone and especially Sean Cavanagh and the fouling and closing down the game by their(Tyrone) tactics They did not give much air time about any of the alleged BITING incidents. Neither did the man who was behind the Black card rule I wonder will he comment in the Irish Independent next Monday
A few of the posters here are spot on in saying that if it were a Tyrone player or Paul Galvin ,they would get 12months. It's seems very clear from P Duffy's statement that the GAA knows that the Donegal player was bitten in Ballybofey So if the 2010 biter is at large and unpunished so is the Ballybofey biter.
We can forget about it all now but to be accused of THREE biting incidents since 2010, and found guilty in one case plus the Colm Cooper incident last year, it asks questions about Dublins discipline
In the Donegal incident the player attended hospital and the question I ask here is:::: if a person said they were bit by someone else, would it be easy to distinguise a bite mark from a bruise??? If I'm correct the Dublin medical team disputed the bite mark with the Donegal officials. But they would do that , would'nt they
I'll finish by saying I would not have liked the Donegal team over the last three years or indeed at any time to have been accused of acts like that.

You know Wayne its post like this that start these kind of rumours and whether No. 5 did or did not do this you have put it out there. there was no need for that.

________________________

No, The papers started the rumours with their stories.

They also gave a huge hint as to the Dublin player involved when they say that a scuffle in the second half came in the aftermath of the alledged incident and both players received yellow cards. If anyone was at the game they would know that only one incident in the second half resulted in a player on each side getting booked.

Maybe we should all be a little more careful when posting here say......

Very disappointing. He's lucky, I probably would have given him double the 8 weeks at least. Regardless I doubt he'll be picked to represent Dublin for a good while and rightly so. I've been watching Whelan closely since before last season and really liked his style of play so this is disappointing, hopefully the ban lays down a marker and stops any of this rubbish happening in future.

Hey Liam you're the one starting thread like this...

Res Dubs dont like Wayno!!!

As I said I've lost count at the amount of time's you've targeted him

Hence my reason for saying "Bordering on cyber bullying"

I think you're hugely exaggerating the possible impacts of Wayno's post

What he did was ill conceived and a little dumb but less of the hysterics and less of you personal campaign against Wayno...

Suspensions in provincial competitions remain time-based whereas at national level they are match bans.

Wayno

u know what, your last post has GENUINELY changed my opinon
Fair play. You could have jumped on Jimbos bandwagon and accused me of all sorts there.
You didnt.
Fair play wayne. And I mean that. Respect

And fair play for holding your hands up also on the player thing. And maybe I did go ott on you there and you know what, for that, I apologise to you also.

Wayno, its all good.

Jimbo, I still think you accusing me of cyber bullying on a gaa site is way OTT and ironically, you were accusing ME of being OTT.

Keyser, on the incident itself, i most certainly did give a reaction to the ban. Have another look

8 weeks for a bite is very very poor from the GAA. I know he's from Dublin, but this is taking the ****. Two months is giving someone a box in a row. A bite is 10 times worse. Ridiculous.

Well said above

Can we get back to talking about the actual issue?

Do people think gavin should drop him for the year? Going forward, it would set the right type of precedent, and in fairness he wouldnt be in the championship squad anyway, so it is an ideal situation to get it into guys head that this wont be tolerated by anyone.

Just like to say that 8 week ban was far to lenient, and should have been a year ban, there is no place for this thuggery in our games, hopely whelans punishment will be being dropped from the Dublin panel for 2014.
