Insufficient evidence suggests that there is no conclusive video footage of O Gara in the act of biting Mickey Bourke. Therefore, as the biting incident could not be proven by video evidence alone, it comes down to the testimony of the individuals involved. The only way to prove that there was an actual bite, would entail O Gara admitting that he did bite Mickey Bourke.

Regardless of the matter, would the Dublin people stop pedaling the argument that you can't bite with a gum shield. Unless you only have teeth on you top jaw in Dublin, this is a non argument.

Nothing annoys me more than folk trying to make a flawed point such as that one.

Another unsatisfactory conclusion.

Again we have a serious allegation made against a player that the accusers have then been unwilling to back up their claims and take their punishment for their part in the incident.

I think the lesson here from these incidents is that managers must not make allegations unless they are happy for their players to be punished too.

To be honest,I don't think this would done Meaths preparations any good if this had lingered on,even if O'Gara was guilty

On a different topic, does anyone else think that Armagh are the perfect team for Meath to face now? No doubt they'll be hurting after Sunday and will want to physically impose themselves in this game as they didn't show any intensity or any of the characteristics of Meath teams you'd usually see in a Leinster final. Armagh are big boys and will be able to take it, I for one think this could be a very tasty game. Not in a dirty way but 2 teams that just want to go at it and get stuck in

Hill16 I know the point you're trying to make about the ref dealing with it but you're wrong. He dealt with the melee, but not with the bite/fishhook/whatever it was. So the GAA CAN review that incident

not when he mentioned a biting incident in his report
if he didnt mention it they would be free to investigate

Ignoring the biting or whatever, is the actual brawl being investigated?

Insufficient evidence ,what does that mean ? Does that mean there is some evidence but just not enough to bring charges?

Big brush and carpet come to mind again. Everybody and his brother knows there was a bite but sure it's grand it didn't break skin, sure didn't he deserve it anyway, sure shouldn't Meath have stood up for themselves before this, sure didn't O'Gara show great restraint in the circumstances, sure doesn't it show how Meath have fallen by mentioning it. This and other petty excuses and mixed messages from commentators and officials coming again soon. By the way not anti Dub. Don't care who was involved. The way we deal with incidents like this and then spout about how great our games are in relation to honour, sportsmanship, manliness, respect, blah, blah, blah compared to others is laughable.

Exactly Hill. Some posters reckon Dublin are like Teflon when it comes to controversy or that we are no more than a PR or marketing machine with unfair benefits, sponsorship, too many coaches, play too many times in Croker, control the media etc etc etc. The usual list..

Well, if Dublin players surrounded and repeatedly punched a meath player there would be a witch from certain posters.
Cant see too many Dublin people calling for lengthy suspensions for those meath players.
We just dust ourselves down and get on with it.

Look, we are never gonna be liked by certain people and I have no problem with that at all, but bitterness and such nonsense I have no time for. People with long term gripes who let their feelings for us consume them is sad to see. But sure we will rise above it.
God knows we have waited long enough for success and we will enjoy it while it lasts.

Ok Hill if thats the route we are going down then surely MDMC needs to be investigated for taking out a Meath player, Connolly for getting a Meath player in a headlock, O'Gara for throwing the head into Reilly, Reilly for throwing punches back, Burke for throwing punches & Tormey for Throwing punches??
