Dublin biting again??

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Is that post serious Fionn? Nobody is complaining least of all Meath however if there's a biting incident, it should be addressed. By the tone of your post, you seem worried that this is going to draw negative attention to Dublin but if it turns out to be true, then I would have no sympathy for the player or for Dublin. This is the third controversy like this.

Allegedly bitten on the top of one of his fingers. One would have to ask what the opponents hand was dooming in the Dublin player's face in the first place to warrant such an alleged reaction. I don't agree with the way Fionn phrased his post but I believe in the spirit of it. Players need to toughen up a bit at this stage. Diving, feigning injury, cribbing about a nick on the finger. The days of Lyons and Coyle are clearly gone in the Royal it seems.

Ah come up, if someone bites he deserves to be banned, it has got absolutely nothing about being manly or feigning injury.
Biting is disgusting and cowardly act and IF a Dublin player did do it, he should be found and banned.

Joxer you seem to me to be suggesting that highlighting the incident is not in the spirit of the game? Fair enough if you think that (I personally wouldn't!) but what about the spirit of the actual bite itself? You didn't mention that!

Certainly nobody can accuse the Dubs of not having enough hunger.

With all their zillions in sponsorship could they not feed the lads a few snack boxes, or my personal favourite, a batterburger ???

Fionn that's a woefull comment from you. Lost a lot of credibility with that. A bite is a bite and it's disgusting and more importantly it's dangerous.

Dublin should get a four month ban if proven.

Nothing manly about biting only a coward and a scumbag would bite. If that had been done to coyle or lyons he still be picking his teeth off grass in Croke park. I actually didn't know about this until i got home. As for hand in face thing? Really?? That's like saying he pushed his face into my fist your honor. IF this is proven 1 year ban. But i believe in justice innocent until proven guilty.

Why not highlight it at the time of the incident? Why wait until you get a hiding and then raise it? It does seem like a strange place to be bitten and you would have to wonder what the other player was doing with his hands all the same. Not condoning the alleged act at all by the way.

Look if guilty ban the player. End of.

But come on for heavens sake, mass hysteria once again any time a Dublin player steps out of line.

There are 2 threads on this at the same time.

I will say no more.

The fact that this is the main talking point from a terrible game with a poor ref says it all.

Terrible game from whose perspective? Some great scores, tempo, physicality today. Did you watch the Ulster final?

Photo on hs shows Micky bringing it to officials attention straight away. I'm sure it will be in refs report. Look we all know it can only be one of two players who did this, but let's not go down kangaroo court justice. I'm sure every dub would want this eradicated and player banned. Let's leave it at that . if it happened Burke would be in the wrong if he didn't report it. This disgusting behavior has to be stamped out. BTW I'd say the exact same if it was a Meath player.

I'm home and have watched the incident on playback from earlier and it's very clear that burky was making it known at the time, to both the ref and the linesman. So claiming that.it was just done after we got beat is wrong. It's there to be seen that he brought it to the refs attention.

It would appear clear cut that it was brought straight to refs attention. How it happened is not so clear. It is the last thing we need

It is shocking this has happened again.......3rd time in recent times this has happened by a Dublin senior footballer.....the last few times it has been swept under the carpet.....Cannot be ignored any more......if it was done to one of the Dublin players there would be a media outcry for a long ban for any player involved.....Just saying.....
