Only a warm up competition so wouldn't read too much into results. Mayo also missing a good few starters today v Cavan.

Its a competition to test the strength of your panel and it seems Cavsn have stronger panel than Mayo.

Meath 1-12
Leitrim 0-12

No disrespect to Leitrim, but doesn't sound overly impressive from Meath, however at this moment,I am not sure how strong the Meath team was..

Pipe down Mr_Pundit Mayo were missing five Mayo Seniors today and two of the team that started last year, so today's result is no reflection on the Mayo Side. Thank You

Tipp v Wicklow match was delayed an hour yesterday as Wiclow travelled to Clonmel instead of Thurles

Tipp Team:
s.hassett
c.o.sullivan
n.o.sullivan
o.flynn
j.loughnane
j.meagher
t.meade
c.o.riordan
p.shannahan
j.moloney
g.henry
d.mcenroe
s.flynn
m.quinlivan
c.connealy.

Team used was very much to give lads a chance to break into the panel and make a claim for sub appearances. Id be very surprised if more than 4 or 5 lined out come championship. The black card ruined the game abit, a Wicklow lad got one 5 mins in for bouncing the ball after not getting a decision, bit of common sense needed especially with a lad travelling all that way and only getting 5 mins for something minor. Two of tipp best players and guarenteed starters (John Meagher and Colin O'Riordan) were also black carded in the first 15mins. Wicklow were decent up to a point, quick strong ruining football straight through the heart of the tipp team but couldnt manage to take their chances in the final 3rd. Without being overly impressive Tipp got the win but looking at results else where and this tipp team it seems like both meath and tipp were both focusing on next weeks game as the big test.

@BornGAA

You took my post up wrong. When both have their strongest 15 out it would be hard to know who is better however squad wise Cavan who were also without a few yesterday seem to have a stronger panel.

Fine win by the Rossies missing a few key players as well!

Cavan beat Longford 2-11 to 1-10. Cavan play Roscommon in Semi final next week. Roscommon finished as best runners, despite their defeat against Westmeath today.. 1-13 to 13.
Meath play Westmeath in the other Semi. Mayo play Tipperary in the Shield final.

Reading back on this thread i see two posts from Roscommon posters. Clearly one Mayo poster is more concerned about us than his own crowd. Considering what we scored in the opening games we were always going to finish as the best runner up at least and this competition is great for finding out which players are good enough for a championship start and which are not.

Wasn't pretty from us today but to win ugly against a good Cavan team is always welcome.
