Manager Merry Go-round - tis the time

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Mark Gilsenan from Corduff has stepped down as manager of Glyde Rangers in Louth after 2 years. Won the Division 3 league last year and finished mid-table in Division 2 this year. Beaten in Junior Championship Final in both years by 1 point. Mickey Conlon (ex Rockcorry player) has also stepped down as O'Raghallaighs manager after winning division 2 league this year. Will we see these men staying with us in Louth or will they head back to Monaghan.

That's good to see - would those teams have been expected to do well or would their terms be deemed successes locally?

Glyde not the team they were 10 years ago. Small panel to pick from now but would of been expected to go well in Junior after been relegated in league and championship under another Monaghan man Paddy Bates. O'Raghallaighs would also of been expected to go well in Division 2 with them playing in the Senior Championship.

Can't see Latton sticking with the same manager for next year. Very poor championship , fall outs in the camp , men leaving panel and coming back in. Gifted a league semi place and bet by 8 points.

Is McEntee there next year too for Clontibret? Disappointing year for such a high profile appointment, maybe he's thinking the work put in will pay off more next year.

I'd say he is. They had a difficult year With injuries. Also the points system didn't favour them as they were weak in the 2 point games because of injuries to a few of there main club players.

They done well in the league but the championship was a non starter, especially after the year previous.

Too be fair in 2017 they got to a championship final where Carrick walk across them but they had to go to the last day to avoid dropping to junoir so in my eyes this year was a better year for them
