While Snufalufagus started this thread with his tongue firmly in his cheek he could end up with egg on his face if Kerry go on to win Sam.

And if they do he'll claim ''he told us'' just like he told us Kerry would win this year..

Some amount of oxygen given to this thread! The more pertinent question is who can stop the Dr. Crokes winning the Kerry county championship in 2014?!

Kerry would want to win one soon

Over the next couple of years there will be plenty of household names leaving that team

You could even say that some that remain are not the players they once were

Not long left for this team. I thought they would have one big push left in them, one year that they still had O'Se's etc giving it their all and with the Gooch firing on all cylinders

That year was in 2013 but Dublin just about stopped that from happening

Youth won the day for Dublin and the players from the bench... our squad.

Dublin have a host of more young lads on the verge of breaking into the team and when I say young... I mean just about shaving. You'll all see that for yourselves soon enough

It'll be very hard to put back to backs... but all the advantages for future success are far more heavily stacked in the blue corner

Rather than in the green and gold over the coming years

Let's be honest the raw material to replace such doesn't seem to be there

The year was 2011 actually. Our '13 team/squad wasn't at the same level as '11. The most any county can ask for is to be competitive. Jack O'Connor in his final year and Éamonn Fitzmaurice this year have been doing that. The talk in Kerry really is more about who can stop the Dr. Crokes?!

The Munster final next year will mostly likely be Cork v Kerry in Páirc Uí Chaoimh. You won't have anyone looking beyond that.

Kerry are a force every year. Theyve only had one bad year in the last 10 seasons, and that was in 2010, losing to down because of injury. They lost v dublin 2 years ago surrendering a 4 point lead in spectacular fashion, and were within a whisker of at least a draw this year. So I think that they will work hard and introduce a few new lads in the next 6 months. Then they will be good to go.

You've been making this claim for more then a year now what do you have to back it up? Do you go to very Kerry underage and club game? Is that how you know? Other wise your once again making claims and trying to pass it off as fact

Agree with Donegalman , at our best in 11and 13 we win but stuttering over the line , at their best the seem to beat us out of the park , they have their own way of doing it not producing through minors or 21s , and they DO have some quality leaving ranks over next year or two , but when it comes to producing players and teams nobody does it better , Kerry may not be up to winning AI for a short while but they will do some major damage to teams along the way .

If Tommy Walsh comes back it will be a huge boost for Kerry. Him, Cooper, Donoghue, Darren o Sullivan would be very dangerous working together.
I think that Dublin are starting off on a golden age but don't rule out Kerry any time soon. Before 2006, when they started a run of winning 6 all Irelands in 7 years, Kilkenny were being dismissed as challengers.

Don't know how anyone could predict Tyrone. Very poor team that only went as far this year due to rugby league tactics and favourable calls from ref. I'd have Monaghan Donegal Cavan all ahead of Tyrone in Ulster.

Pat Spillane had a good old rant about the state of affairs in Kerry. I never take any notice of him as, when it comes to 'cute Kerry hoors', he is the king. He typically speaks of doom and gloom and then when they win the All-Ireland it is a case of 'I told you so' for a few weeks as he basks in the glory and then it is back to being a merchant of doom again.

Dublin or Mayo will stop Kerry if they meet. Its common sense.

Kerry are gone for a few years now, must start rebuilding and find new young blood, most Kerry supporters themeselves are under no illusion and would be the first to admit it...

No medals for winning semi-finals in 1996 either. As regards Kerry been down for a period of time i don't know. Kerry will challenge most years i believe but its the depth in the squad that worries me most. Our starting 15 would beat most teams id imagine bar the Super power Dubs. I'll try and predict a possible starting 15 for next year so. 1]Kealy. 2]M.O'Se. 3]M.Griffen. 4[S.Enright. 5]J.Lyne. 6]P.Crowley. 7]F.Fitzgerald. 8]A.Maher. 9]J.Buckley. 10]D.Casey. 11]C.Cooper. 12]D.Walsh. 13]Dar.Sullivan. 14]Dec.Sullivan. 15]JO'Donoghue. Not a bad looking side with a few additions added hopefully after the league campaign. Theres too many doom and gloom experts on this site lol. Think positive.

Pat is only speaking sense...

The players aren't there to replace the current crop as they retire

Where are the stand out Club players? Kerry underage hasn't been at the business end for a while now...

They rely on the same bunch. What a bunch to have but every dog has their day...

Kerry would have been relegated last year if they hadn't of brought back the old guard... the players they had on pitch up that point were getting well beaten. In fact... how long was it that Kerry went without scoring...

There's no shame in that... how could you begin replacing some of those players

There was one big push left for several of the current crop of Kerry players... that was 2013... and they were bloody close

I think if they had of beaten Dublin that they could have got the better of Mayo

Especially considering that Mayo had so many problems up front... Injuries / illness etc etc

I mean when the likes of Galvin, A'OM, Brosnan say enough is enough... Pat Spillane is right... you're taking a massive chunk out of the current Kerry team

I think if they leave on the back of Tomas O'Se that Kerry will def struggle in 2014

Marc O'Se is what 33 or so isn't he... with his type of game... he's not going to last the pace.

Colm Cooper / Declan O'Sullivan are both 30 as it stands... by the time the Champ comes around they'll be both pushing 31

I mean those 3 names are some of the finest footballers of all time... where's the raw material to replace such?

I agree with Pat... it just inst there and it'll be a while before Kerry reemerge...
