Jim McGuinness book was a good read. John O'Mahoney's was very good really enjoyed that. Most disappointing book was Tomas O'Se I thought you would get more of a insight to what goes on behind closed doors within a big superpower like Kerry. Didn't give much away.

Previous books Mickey harte, Oisin McConville, Dessie Farrell's tangled up in blue were all really enjoyable.

Am about to start Rory Kavanaghs having read Jim McGuinness it will be interesting reading from a Player's view point.

"Green Fields - Gaelic Sport in Ireland" was another very good book by Humphries.

Have to admit I haven't re-read either one in recent years, though. Am a bit uneasy about the idea, knowing now what we didn't know back then. But yes, they're still good books.

Seamus Darby's book, 'About that goal', his famous score v Kerry in the 1982 SFC Final, deals with goal, and it's aftermath. He lost his marriage, and lost money in bad business decisions post 1982.
He went through a bad period, some of it self inflicted, before getting his life back on track.
The book covers both sporting milestones, and personal turmoil. A good entertaining read.

Ciaran Murphys book will be a good read. For the photographers Season of Sundays. 2 different books Stockwell and Purcell by Jim Carney formerly of RTE, Keeping the Dream Alive and Limericks 1973 win by James Lundon, Liam O Brien and Niall Deegan have a wonderful book out also Humphrey Kelleher and Donal McAnallens book on pitches ( A place to Play). Finally a book out on Pat Stakelum of Tipp by Noel Dundon is one I am keeping an eye out for.

There is a book out on Chasing Sam Maguire, its a bit pricy at 35e. Brian Carty has his Championship book also, havent seen this one yet.

Autobiographies tend to be more miss than hit in my books -Liam Hayes and Hero books usually have a few out.

Club History wise Borrisokane, Aherlow, Abbeyleix and Kishkeam have books due out.

Lots of interesting books out there. Happy shopping

The Jackie Tyrell book is well worth a read. Also another book from a few years back called Last Man Standing is excellent, it's about Hurling Goalkeepers, thoroughly enjoyable, as is Dalo's book.
I have to say one of the best I've read is a book called Dub Sub Confidential by a guy called John Leonard who was Stephen Cluxtons understudy some years ago.

'Hooked' by Justin McCarthy & Kieran Shannon is the best GAA book ever written, and I've read a tonne of them.

Also Hurling: The Revolution Years by Denis Walsh is good if you were around for 90's hurling.

Out Of Our Skins by Liam Hayes is also a gem.

If your looking for a sports book it's only a game by Eamon Dunphy is a blinder.

Read all the GAA books they are generally a bore fest but the best out there is IMO in no particular order
