I do Benbulben, but then some people will continue to flog a dead horse, so I feel I must retort to try to enlighten them, the great educator that I am.

For whats its worth my opinion in the whole sage would be:

O'Hara is apast it and was rightfully dropped by Walsh in my opinion. I have never been O'Hara fan for many reasons.

Sligo under Walsh has been going backwards for a while, He sometimes lacks the ability to make tactical substitutions (as pointed out by EOH). This was especially seen in the last 2 connacht finals. Playing against strong breeze last year and trying to kick a long ball into 2 small forwards?? In 2010 Shine was cleaning up and McGuire couldn't keep pace, no change made in defence, couldn't get ball into forward line as Rossies had employed sweeper to mop up in front of Kelly. Only long range point taking got us back into game (especially from Costello) The team selection against London was always going to be a problem, dont know where Walsh gets these ideas from but playing lads out of position and haven't even been tried during the league

O' Hara has a right as a Sligo pundit to bring these issues to light as he knows Sligo football in and out and can see what is wrong. Why bring in a Mayo player into panel late when he wont even committ to Sligo over Mayo championship and then doesn't drop him from team?? Far worse than a lad who goes for few beers on night out IMO. O'Hara then attacked training methods etc. which only a Sligo player can have knowledge of but certainly something is wrong somewhere

For people outside Sligo saying he only had axe to grind or has a grudge, while it might appear to be so, most Sligo people agree with what he said as this has been in the works for a long time. Embarassing defeats in qualifiers to Down, Wicklow, Kildare etc. Sligo need a change of management and everyone knew this last July. County board spent 4 months doing nothing before reappointing Walsh once more. We get the weakest side of the draw possible in Connacht and with great chance of another Connacht final at least just to see Walsh has made a mess of the team.

Roll on 2014, new management, new county board (hopefully) and new beginnings for Sligo GAA!!

Could be worse, ye could be out of the championship altogether, personally i think they're great result for the championship that london and wicklow had good wins. Unpredictability is what will keep the championship alive. we dont want to get into a premier league situation, where the sport is being destroyed by the fantastical media crap that goes on

Kevin Walsh replied in a most dignified and measured manner to Eamon O Hara. Micky Hartes comments in relation to the matter were entirely correct. Eamon O Hara it is over to you.

Greengrass tell us al what you know about sligo training sessions, tactics and team selection that you think your in position to tell us mickey hartes comments were entirely correct? Tell us how many CB meetings youve been to aswell. Then tell me how many mickey harte has been to. I would guess none as your a louth and i would mickey harte has better things to be worrying about. Personally having read hartes comments i thought they were a disgrace and very insulting for all sligo gaels trying to improve our countys fortunes. He dismissed anyone who knows the truth and speaks as shallow thinkers when his knowledge of sligo is alot shallower than mine or any genuine sligofan. The amount of outsiders who have seen or know little about who think they know more than is quite staggering. Would i comment on louth no, becuase i havent a clue about ye but you think you know us.

Are you going tomorrow night to see what the story is? It will be the usual BullS**t anyway and they will use this controversy to try and draw attention away from there own shortcomings.

Benbulben i live 6000 miles away in Georgia, so no cannot make it, will be interesting id say, i have my ear close to the ground on things back home, so hopefully hear of plenty of club members challenging the role of CB and propaganda there spouting, hopefully walsh will leave (but will be after qualifiers) and cb will change with good guys not recycling the older ones either, and we can move on to better things..in 2014.

Its hard to believe people are questioning us on walshs creditionals after losing to london...tbh i cannot get over how people think they have any clue about sligo, some of them even think he won us connacht in 07, and brehony won it btw but we had jordan after, No matter what you think of ohara he told the truth and i am proud of him for doing so and i will continue to defend him as there is a massive opportunity for change here and we have to take it.

Mickey Hartes main point was correct. He criticised RTE from the point of view that the"discussion" on Kevin Walsh was completely unbalanced . He criticised RTE for not giving Kevin Walsh a right to reply. He also criticised the tendency of RTEs panelists to personalise their comments. He is correct from that point of view. That is what I was referring to.His knowledge of Sligo may not be as extensive as yours but his knowledge of football I would imagine is greater than either yours or mine.
Kevin Walsh issued a dignified and measured response to Eamon O Haras attack on him. His reply stands in stark contrast to O Haras peevish response to Oisin Mc Convilles remarks about O Haras attack on Walsh. You may be proud of O Hara but I would see what he did last week as being nothing more than a cheap shot.I have no doubt O Hara and you want nothing but the best for Sligo football and I wish you both the very best but Sligo football won't be improved by cheap attempts at character assassination.

If a change of manager doesn't work out what then? i'm old enough to remember Sligo as the whipping boys of Connacht in fairness to Walsh he has got some good results with Sligo seniors and has also done well with the juniors. London's result over the last three years have greatly improved they play Galway next year and will also be looking to beat them.

Well done to Kevin Walsh who has talking a lot of criticism over the year notetably from Eamon O'Hara. O'Hara had no cheek considering he done nothing as manager and was disaster managing Ballaghadreen in mayo last year

Sure he did great with that underage Sligo team he was involved with 2 or 3 years ago everyone in there own half and kept the beating as lower as possible.
