Very personal attack and no right of reply for Walsh. Hmmmm...

Not sure Des Cahill was expecting that!

Thought it was honest he said what he felt and spoke articulately .
Rather that than bullshit and sidestep the issue like he could easily have done.
He doesn't rate Walsh, I'd agree with him about the nonsense of training in November flat out.
Makes a nonsense of the winter training ban.

O'Hara spoke well and it perhaps gives you a rare insight as to what happens behind the scenes.

He's 100% right in what he is saying .
I don't think the Sunday game is the place for personal attacks and grievances .

He has being inside the camp so he would know whats going on. I was taken aback a small bit he didn't hold back.

too far Eamon and the brother in law at it too on local radio after the game. I would agree on some points(infighting at co board level in particular though he had no problem taking some of one sides issues but left out they wanted Walsh). I also agree on the training flat out in November

The issue of Kevin Walsh appt was only questioned by 2 clubs at co bd (not by Eamons or his 2 backers clubs either).

This day was coming. I was at half the national league games and only for James Kilcullen at midfield and Marren inside we were relegated.

A problem with a small county and such a small number of clubs(21 clubs, too many big areas served by 1 club North and East Sligo) is there is not enough rotation in county squad I believe. Everyone in Sligo GAA (and I am one of them) needs to work together as do the different co management teams over all age groups. The coaching is brillant in Attractas and Sumemrhill but what about the other schools in the co.

Congrats to London, it was coming and unfortunately we were the ones to fall, but Eamon and Tommy B forget about your personal issue (profiles) and work with others

Passionate words spoken by a man who gave so much to Sligo GAA, if what he is saying is true then you can't blame him for being passionate about the matter, fair play to him.

You have to remember that Walsh cut him from the squad this year. It is like giving conor mortimer a soapbox after he pulled out of the mayo squad last year; it isnt going to be balanced analysis.

I will wait until I hear what Kevin Walsh has to say, before I comment on this thread. Two sides to every story.

I thought it was a man emptying some inner emotions and had some bottle to do it on live tv but you would wait to see the response from the Sligo camp as it would be better to hear both sides of a story before making a judgement. That said, getting beat by London (no disrespect intended) who haven't won a game in the championship in 36 years, shows that things are definitely not right in the Sligo camp.

Firstly congrats to London. Been over there myself and its a great day out.

RTE and the Sunday Game are rubbing their hands with glee .. bit of controversy on the first night. I think they deliberately have Eamonn O'Hara and Donal Og Cusack on the panel this year because they are outspoken, controversial characters instead of being particularly astute observers of the game.. (and it helps that in both cases they have axes to grind with their own former County setups). Will THEY be replaced next year with a couple of other disgruntled ex-players ???

Thought Eamonn O'Hara fell for the bait last night and went in 'studs first' on Kevin Walsh. He effectively laid the blame completely on KW and suggested he should go. Sounds like all KW wanted was a team of committed players....and left out players who couldn't commit 100%. That's the same philosophy that every county and club coach is using. No exemptions.

EO'H couldn't commit (and in fairness why should he, at 37, he owes Sligo nothing) so he was left out .. end of story.

Sligo had a few absent players and maybe took London for granted a little bit too... but still could have won the game if not for two certain goals that rebounded from the woodwork.

C'est la vie (such is life)

Couple of points........

(1)Thought O'Hara was right, previosu poster said it was a "personal attack", it was not...he didn't criticise Kevin Walsh, as a man, in any way. He criticised his approach and his management record and methods in recenet years. O'Hara is perfectly entitled to do so, Walsh must expect scrutiny in a what could be considered a public role. Walsh for his part is fully entitled to respond.

(2) For previous poster, London have two championships games in the last 2 years........Waterford last year, and Fermanagh the year before.

I think O'Hara comments went far. He has a right to his opinion but should have toned it down a bit, will cause more issues and in-fighting in Sligo then previously existed IMO.

In response to littlevillage. Eamon said he understood Kevin Walsh's decision to have players on the panel who trained since Nov. However when another player is allowed to link up in February and then for that same player to give preference to his club team and play a club championship game a couple of hours before playing for his adopted county then there is a problem. Double standards and hypocrisy - which was exposed last nigh on the Sunday Game

Will be interesting to see if Walsh hits back......could this damage his chances for the Galway job. Plenty of Galway fans calling for him to be brought in for Mullholland.
