C'mon, it wouldn't stand up against a show like Fair City or Eastenders...

Walt Goggins' character Shane in The Shield (TV show) used Cletus Van Damme as his alias when he didn't want to disclose who he was.

I think you'll find its your loss ... cause you're losing a serious amount of precious time in your life watching that muck :)

Great show, just be prepared for some pre-hd grainy footage in the first 2 or 3 seasons.
It's not the quality of the Wire (what is though) but it's worth it my friend.
Walton Goggins is some serious aisteoir.

Irish but born and living in Gillingham, which is one of 5 towns in north Kent that make up the Medway conurbation (the others being Strood, Rochester, Chatham and Rainham for anyone who gives a s***!)

Was over that neck of the woods last week. Down in Woodchurch and Ashford. Took a trip into Rye during the week. Ashford and Rye aren't great spots although that outlet centre is brilliant.

Went into Canterbury to catch the ulster and Leinster finals. Christ it was a hard spot to find a spot showing the GAA!!! For future reference any suggestions where in that neck of the woods is good to catch the gaa?

Yeah Rye is OK but no more than that. If you're in that area again and the weather's decent maybe head one way to Camber or the other to Winchelsea, much nicer spots.

Sadly your question of where to watch the GAA in those parts has a straightforward answer - there aren't any. Even in the Medway Towns there's nothing, let alone the part of Kent (or Sussex in the case of Rye) you were in. Problem is most pubs who show sport will either just have Sky or maybe BT Sport added on, they won't have Premier because there just isn't the demand for it.

That's why I had to go to Morden (south London, bottom of the Northern tube line) to watch our game v Waterford last Sunday. Well, I could've had a slightly shorter tube trip and gone to the Alexandra in Clapham but Morden is nearer my cousins in Sutton.

I think I'll bite the bullet and subscribe to Premier full time next season which is annoying because I've no interest whatsoever in anything else they broadcast - Aussie rugby league, Swedish speedway, NASCAR, stuff like that.

So basically Gotmilk - my house! :)

"Headbutter" in memory of that day Sunday 23/3/08 and the battle of Parnell Park. This was a Div 2 game between Dublin and Monaghan re-scheduled from the previous week Sat 15th due to Parnell Park being unplayable as a result of torrential rain in the Capital on Saturday afternoon. The game was a cracker with both teams going hell for leather and players and supporters getting very emotional and wound up.
It was actually the first and only time I was called an " O----e B-----d" at a GAA match!!
Anyway back to the match..nearing the end of the game with the lead being swapped several times, a Dublin backroom member entered the field and after an exchange of opinions with Tommy Freeman proceeded to give Tommy a "Glasgow Kiss" and floor him!
Monaghan had the last laugh though as Paul Finlay kicked the equaliser in a 1-10 to 0-13 draw.
If that game was played under today's rules ie black cards etc each team would be lucky to have ten players left at the end of 70 mins!
That is how "Headbutter" came to be!

Narrowback is tongue and cheek for 1st generation Americans with Irish parents. Used to be said in a derogatory way meaning we have narrower backs from lack of hard work as compared to our parents. But now it is a term of endearment to us lol. 914 is area code for Westchester County, NY, where i reside.

Next time i'm over I'll call to your house for the tea and sunday game lol. I found a pub in Canterbury eventually that was showing it. Jolly sailor or something like that it was called. Quite hard to find but might be of use to you. Wasn't an outstanding pub but at least it had the football on.
