Lots of Dubs in Derry it seems, 'dubupnorth' is one of them!....Same with Newry, the place is jammed with us!Prob due to the amount of women looking to marry a suave and cosmopolitan Dub rather than settle for a local lad! Its works out to being of great benefit to the area to have an influx of people from a true GAA county helping the game in their area!

An example of one of his more "colourful" posts:

Ah Gentlemen! Good to be back from my recent expedition to the Amazonian basin - an area of tropical rainforest with unparalleled biodiversity! Without boring you I cannot overstate the importance of you playing your part in conserving this wonderland by reducing your greenhouse gas emissions and reducing your carbon footprint and using recyclable toilet roll.

So what has occurred in my absence. Well Hoganstand has had a makeover of titanic proportions. My initial prognosis is that it is a splendid effort and I am heartened by the instantaneous responses to the beneficial suggestions made by some. I also note that the intellectually challenged are slow to embrace change. Unfortunate but nonetheless to be expected for we fear the unknown.

On my travels I was contemplating the psychological reasoning behind an individuals need to participate in fora such as this. The need to expound one's theories and opinions to a vast audience but all the while doing so from anonymity and to an anonymous audience to boot. The need to hide behind a façade, a pseudonym - perhaps lacking the confidence to articulate one's views in a public fashion for fear of ridicule or odium. A condition possibly triggered by an unhappy occurrence in one's childhood.

Over the next while I will attempt to unravel some of these personas and perhaps you can let me know if you recognize anyone from the analysis. I will give Latin names to the categories in keeping with scientific research norms and your comments are welcome.

We'll start with Villagis Idioticus: Usually a person from an extremely rural background. They have never traveled out of their secure environment but have formed opinions based on magazines, tabloid newspapers, local gossip and hearsay. This person would have been a bully if they have grown over 4 feet but physical stagnation prevented this, leaving one option. The person, a loner, develops an unhealthy and vibrant hate for places and people he has never visited or experienced because he wants to be from there and be like the people there. A form of reverse xenophobia perhaps.

The internet is an ideal tool for his vindictive attacks - safe from physical repercussions, anonymous, and situated in his bedroom. Attacks will be of the low intelligence variety and so will be repetitive but sustained. The low intelligence factor will result in the individual making outlandish statements with no factual base and will see contradictions to these very statements in subsequent messages. Symptoms of this condition also include delusions of grandeur, hallucinations about one's personal status (e.g. education, wealth etc,) - classic Narcissistic traits - defined by Freud as a condition where one overestimates his abilities and has an excessive need for admiration and affirmation.

So there we have it - our first case study. On perusing my findings I feel I may have trawled too deeply as surely no-one could possess all the features as defined above and be allowed to function in a normal society - but rather would be incarcerated in a secure environment with no opportunity to self harm.

But I will leave the considerations to your good selves and as I have already iterated, your comments are indeed welcome.

Can't imagine who he was referring to!! :P

Why do you have the word 'enlightened' in inverted commas?

Not really, If policed properly there would have been no controversy. Political threads aside we should be aloud to talk about stuff away from the playing fields.
