Great result but in fairness Donegal were rubbish, Murphy aside!

Good result for Kildare. I imagine it must have been a dogged contest. However, I wouldn't expect Donegal to be firing on all cylinders this time of year anyway. Nonetheless an important win for Kildare.

Great start to Division 1 football by Kildare. Great opening match overall.

I actually expected Donegal to go down by a 10-12 point margin prior to throw in, as they haven't trained much in 2013. But they gave a spirited 2nd half comeback. John Doyle and Michael Murphy both outstanding tonight.

Enjoyed 2nd half of game. Kildare were much fitter as we expected. Donegal will improve big time from this game. Impressed by young Niall Kelly of kildare. What a footballer M.Murphy is. Id say he is best forward in the country as he has power and can kick off either foot.

Impressive performance from Dublin. Jim Gavans brand of football is pleasing on the eye. A few points. I dont think the boy Quinn will make it based on tonights performance but maybe he had an off night. Dublin seemed to offer up too many goal chances to Cork but overall they looked solid all round. Massive panel of players will make it tough to find your best starting 15.

Good observations, most pleasing was the kick passing and speed of the backs especially. But another time would have taken those Cork 45's alone never mind the goalscoring opportunities. But still some lovely points taken. Andrews, McCaffrey and Cooper had some great touches. Cork looked out of sorts - what would you expect this time of year anyway.

Typical league game really, Cork not awake yet, good showing from Dublin but a little loose at the back!

very enjoyable games tonight with the dubs looking very impressive, andrews and cooper were awesome. Murphy of Donegal and the new lad for Kildare were excellent as well tonight. Paddy power had a special today 9/1 for dublin, kildare, laois and tyrone, thank you very much ;)

Good to be finally up & running with two open, enjoyable games to start with. Kildare were well worth their win but I saw enough from Donegal to think that we will have a good year. Dublin were very impressive and I suppose Cork would be the least happy of the four, shipping 19 scores in a game is never good. Tyrone are continuing their good form & I am really looking forward to today's game. Combine all this with Ireland's great performance yesterday & it has been a great weekend, not something you can often say about the first weekend in February!!

Donegal would want to make sure that Murphy doesn't get injured muckross!
Without him yesterday, they would have been well beaten!
The young Dubs looked good.
The Tyrone game was a rambunctious affair, but they did enough to win.
A good opening day to the league, lets hope it continues with a cracker in Mayo
today.

Donegal looked very rusty to me. Some serious work to be done there if they are to avoid relegation. Murphy was class but without the ref Kildare would've won a lot handier. Hard to know what to read into it from a Kildare perspective. Delighted with the form of the young players and also Brian Flanagan who has being going very well. We definitely played Donegal at the right time though. I would expect a Cork backlash from their poor showing yesterday. I'm afraid we might be in for a bit of a hiding down in Pairc Ui Rinn next week.
