(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Just heard a lot of talk about it and wondering would there be interest in it and would it work with the GPA and the GAA.

There were two Gaa games for Playstation before....they were kinda rubbish to be honest!!

Unless EA or Konami made them....they'd be of poor quality. And neither company would probably go for it as the Irish Market is too small and they wouldnt sell it big worldwide.

So its probably a non runner

Amazing the way rumours start.

Few guys on facebook made a page - ''Petition to make EA make a GAA game''. This included a very good mock cover of a GAA 13 Game. It will be at east 2 years to make a decent game especially if it was made by EA. Would be class tho

What if they did both aussie rules and football. theres not a major differnece between the games so if they made an aussie rules game a football game would only take a few minor changes

it would kill our games...............kids would plank themselves in front of a tv stuffing themselves with crisps and cola instead of getting out their boots and doing it for real ................please don't go there.

Well the last games they had were brutal, beyond appalling.

Terrible graphics, bad gameplay, bogey controls, commentary so repetitive it was unbelievably annoying and really stupid scores - kicking for a point 30/40m meters out and suddenly it ends up in the goal & you don't even see how.

It also lacked realism in the extreme - for instance, I once played Cavan v Tyrone on it and beat Tyrone something like 4-23 to 0-1....

And if memory serves, they had a blooper in the opening credits - a Mayo forward scoring a goal against the Mayo keeper.....

I never saw so many 2nd hand copies of a game for sale in stores in my life and it's no wonder they haven't had a GAA game since

I'd love to see it happen but they have a lot of work to do....

What about those of us with Gammy knees? We can't get up off our arm chairs without assistance anyway so it would provide us with some good entertainment.

I know one of the young lads pushing this on FB. Yes the last game for the PS was poor but this is being aimed at the XBox! This is what the teens are into today and it will only make our games more trendy or "cool" IMO!

I think a few kids might already own an Xbox Gammy! A bit late in the day to waging a war on computer games when new games are already out-selling a lot of films on their release.

Gammy are you havin a laugh? Yeah a GAA video game would ruin the GAA, the same way FIFA has ruined football all over the world. I heard they were struggling to field teams in the Premier League at the weekend.

This is pretty much what happened last time. The GAA hierarchy in their infinite wisdom awarded the contract to produce the game to an Australian software company. This company basically tweeked a version of their AFL game so the game mechanics were all wrong.
I seem to remember an irish company was snubbed in preference to an Australian one - this was during a GAA jolly in Oz, It was probably handed out at some barbie when too much VB had been consumed....also the game was made before the GPA had sway so all the players in the game had to be made up.
