upandwin County: Down Posts: 79 1335310 Yet again here I read about kk football. Kilkenny are the only county in ireland that focus 100 per cent on hurling. What about the likes of Tyrone Cavan Monaghan Donegal who all neglect hurling? There is no tradition in football around the county, the only clubs really to play football are the ones bordering Wexford Laois. There is a club championship played in all grades. Was just looking over the results from last weekend and seen Kilkenny had a good win against Gloucestershire in the British Championship. But what I also noticed was that Paddy McGonigley from Donegal was playing CHB for yous. Didn't even know he was in Kilkenny now. He was an excellent player for Donegal. Would have had a good future with the county team but lost the sight in one eye during an unfortunate incident at a team bonding paintball trip in 2007. I mean is there many football clubs in Kilkenny at present?" railyard would be the most notable club to play football, kilmoganny, glenmore, mullinavat and muckalee would have very good teams and players also. it happens early in the year which is not good. Railyard are a thriving club and I hear there underage structure is very progressive.
