Very sad news - A man with a huge breadth of knowledge, wit, intelligence, humour - certainly seemed to have lived life if the full even if it seems he was taken at a young age.

Will miss his posts and his Contration views on topics such as Antrim Hurling, Queens University, Bilderburg Conspiracies, The evil of Tax dodging US multinationals, the search for true socialism, Cricket in Lancashire, His love of Westport - His colourful tales of the trials and tribulations of the trad music player and his Forest Gump type knack of being in the midst of histories defining moments. - But most of all I enjoyed reading his slant on the northern ireland politics
because this is where I found his logic to be at its most rational.

Without even meeting him he can only have been a lively and colourful character to those who knew and will surely be sorely missed as indeed he will on this forum

Fior Gael is a term too loosely used quite often, but if ever there was anyone to fit the description it was Patrick. My condolence's to his loved ones.

Yea but not the full time one. However the last 3 months has taught me that when health is an issue the results of matches take on a different perspective.

Beginning to understand what you mean.

And thanks for the concern.

Think this was his last post, if it was it was very fitting.
