Well,i do feel a bit sorry for jim mcguinness because he is a good manager but that's what happens when you abandon the attacking side of your game. Mcfadden did really well up front but he was on his own, murphy was irrelevant because of where he was positioned. I knew that if dublin went ahead late on they would win it because donegal are not built to chase a game. I wasn't impressed with dublin, they had plenty of time to prepare for this and they looked like they didn't have a clue but they deserve their place in the final and good luck to them.

They were at it against us to, but ye couldnt win a free from the meath ref. Dublin used the heads and won the frees in front of the posts. I know we gave away some stupid frees in the last few of extra time(tired bodies) but some cynical fouling in normal time from them and off the ball stuff the ref didnt deal with, and then you had mcguiness coming out and complaining about Kildares "mind games" if anything today highlighted the injustice done to us, and I dont care if some say on here to get over it, and stop whinging Im glad Dublin won. I tell yee that today gives me great heart that our side are close, were not that far off. Patience is key and if we keep knockin on the door it will eventually open and we will make the breakthrough with a bit of rub of the green which wouldnt go amiss. Looking forward to the final now! who knows could be playing the all Ireland champs in the early stages of leinster in 2012..food for thought!

You're missing my point. For such awful tactics, they were not that far away were they? It could of easily of gone the other way.

Mayo by the way lost by 9 points thats a quare difference to two. I don't know why you keep picking me up on what is the truth. Despite all the bad press Donegal are receiving they could very well be in the final, they just fell a little short, very slightly i might add.

1020826 Donegals tactics blah blah blah, thats all very obvious but if McFaddens shot had gone under they would of won, simple as that.

cahill takes out lacey

it is absolutely appalling that there was no comment on rte regarding cahill blatantly taking out karllacey...lacey was by far donegals best defender..mopping everything upthat dublin sent in to the full forwardline...of course donegal were the team labelled as being cynical and any comment on this by our so called experts would not be consistent with their pathetic villifying of donegal tactics...why is there no response to this incident..cahill should have got red and be banned for the final

I usually watch a game where i have a a preferred winning team. This is the first time I ever had a preferred losing team and thanks be to God for the sake of football They did. It is also the first time ever i did not wish an Ulster team to win I am pleased they did not. I will never ever pay any coin to go to see any team that Jim mc Guiness manages because it may seem like approval of this tripe. Please God let donegal never ever win another game under this management who have taken cheating to a blevel that would embarras even the most avid supporters of that idiot game that is called soccer.

Cluxton time wasting??

Cluxton used up almost 2 out of the 4 allocated minutes coming up to take the 45 at the end. We seen Cillian o connor getting a free taken off him and a hop ball given for taking less than 30 seconds in the connacht final... Dont think it would have changed the result in this game but shouldnt the ref have added more injury time here??

rte's pathetic analysis

the analysis of the rte team in the aftermath of this game was pathetic...it all started off in the studio with the so called experts focussing on donegals defensive tactics..was i watching a different game but were dublin not employing similar tactics with only brogan and connolly operating less than 60 yards from the donegal goal...towards the end of the game as cluxton takes 2 minutes to hit a free kick (surely a throw up)..mc stay is encouraging themto take as much time as possible...a quote from darragh maloney as he commentates towards the end of the dublin tyrone game...sean cavanagh on the ball..he is pulled to the ground by a dublin player..some people might call this cynical, but if thats what it gets you to an all ireland semi-final,thats what it takes..the hypocricy of the rte team with their snide comments about donegal is absolutely pitiful

Lets be honest it was there for the taking for Donegal and they blew it. When they were up by three they gave away silly frees and then messing about brought the frees into scorable positions...

Well said Derryman you are spot on. Never ever do I wish to see Donegal winning any type of match if they continue with today's tactics and I think the vast majority of true GAA followers will agree with me.

Also little mention of Mark McHugh cheating? Came in to the Dublin player harassing him and got pushed in the chest and goes down clutching his face. Disgraceful, glad to see the Dubs power on for that alone.

I think it was Marty Boyle... and yes he was the original transgressor and should have been given yellow. there should have been a few more reds and yellows dished out too. This was a disgraceful game of football. I hope Cavan never resort to that type of football even if we never win another game . Donegal are better than that. they don't need to stoop this low.
