"30 Counties on this island want a Dublin V Kerry final"

Eh, I don't think so!

Mayo will have the overwhelming majority of neutrals supporting them in 2 weeks against Kerry.

Neutral support for Donegal v Dublin will probably be 50:50 I reckon.

neutrals would prefer a final involving mayo and for them to win!!

I really think we can win this one.No disrespect to tyrone but we will not break donegal,s defence as easy as we did tyrones last nite. Both teams have two totally different types of playing styles.Dubs will want to run at them from the start and hurt them early on and donegal will gladly sit back an use the blanket defence.Donegal will look to frustrate the dubs and make them kick from long distance out and hit the dubs on the counter attack.Makes for another great game hopefully another same performance next time out from the dubs and should see us over the line...

I don't see the two styles as completely different whatsoever, I just see Dublin as better executors of the style at the minute. Their defence was fantastic at turnovers and blockdowns against Tyrone, the difference between their style and ours is the Dubs break with a lot more pace and let it into Brogan and Connolly a lot quicker than we do. But that is down to this being our first year with this system rather than anything else.

Nobody is going to win this match by double figures that's for sure. I'm seriously looking forward to it because playing against the Dubs in Croker is a special occasion and it's been 9 years! Hopefully it'll be as exciting as the drawn game of '02, with a different outcome than the replay that year!

I thought Dublin were fantastic last night against a Tyrone team that I thought would win. What really impressed me was their hunger for the breaks and their kick passing in poor conditions was very accurate.

Donegal won't give the Dublin forwards as much space and as much as I'd like to say that will be enough for Donegal to win I can't for a few reasons:

Dublin will clean up at midfield as Donegal are very poor in the middle.
Mc Fadden showed a serious lack of pace in the game v Kildare which will put most of the scoring on Murphy and Mc Brearty's shoulders - not enough scores!!
Dublin's ability to take scores from distance.

That all said the only glimmer of hope is that Dublin's defence foul in scorable areas and we could get some joy there. Overall I know that we will give 120% and play to the final whistle but I think this game comes a bit early for a developing Donegal team. Our day will come but not yet!!

we're sandwiched between Derry and Donegal and they can find some big Brick S***houses of men I think Tyrone needs a half dozen of the same because last night was like fly weights against Harvey weights .

Jesus but I cannot wait for this game. Having worked and lived in the Northside of Dublin for a while now, and attended any amount of games in Croker involving other teams, finally the BIG ONE (for me anyway) is here!!

Dublin are definitely favourites for a few reasons:

- They're a bit further down the road development wise than us.
- Their display on Saturday was the best we've seen this year & against a team who many saw as possible AI winners.
- The "home" advantage effect of Croker.
- The front 6 are more dynamic than anything Donegal have faced so far.
- Donegal's reliance of winning low scoring matches. I don't think we have the scoring forwards to counter-act the scores that Dublin will post.

But, and there's always a but. This is sport. Championship. On the day who knows what will happen and that's why we love it.

Will Gilroy pick two holding midfielders and three half-backs in the half-forward line again?

If so, then for the sake of football, I hope Donegal win.

What are you on about now? Dublin play a very defensive game - are you denying that?

Dubs to scrape a win in what will be a woeful spectacle! As a few posters have already said Dublin have more scoring potential around the pitch than Donegal and should be able to pick off enough points to win a low scoring game. We will have to wait and see though as i am sure Donegal will feel that they will be able to contain and frustrate Dublin just enough to scrape a win also!

Way to early for all the talk of Dublin and Kerry final...for both Dublin and kerry!

Dublin were very impressive yesterday and I think they will beat Donegal with a little to spare but I will caution against getting carried away for the following reasons -

Tyrone are an ageing tired team and it was only towards the end of their match against a very limited Roscommon Team, that they managed to put them away,
Diarmuid Connolly was brilliant yesterday and also against Laois but was taken off against Kildare so I wouldn't be sure of him producing the same performance against Donegal,
I can't see Donegal giving them the space that they got yesterday,
Will Bernard Brogan be as unselfish again or revert to going for a score everytime regardless of his chances of scoring?

Still having considered all the above I think if Dublin can be as accurate with their passes they will beat Donegal who take much too long to work the ball into a scoring position.

Dublin will be another step up for Donegal. If Dublin get quick ball into the Brogan's then they should get enough scores on the board to win the match. Dublin defensive should get the better of Donegal's forwards, who outside of Michael Murphy lack any real class.

Theres no team in Ireland more deserving of winning the All Ireland than Dublin.

This will be an intriguing encounter for sure. People wrote off Tyrone when they lost to Donegal but after beating Roscommon they suggested that maybe they were starting to gain momentum through the qualifiers. Dublin were lucky to beat Kildare (albeit with 14 men for most of the second half) Donegal beat a Kildare team that couldn't cope with the hype.
How will Dublins attack cope with Donegals much vaunted defense? How will Donegals defensive system cope with the much vaunted Dublin attack?
Donegal are in bonus territory, Dublin are back where they wanted to be at the start of the year. I think (but I wouldn't bet the house on it) that Dublin might shade it on the basis that they have the experience of being in an All Ireland semi final BUT in the back of my mind I remember 1992 when Donegal came from nowhere to win it. Roll on the 28th!!
