Ah it was a very harsh sending off in my opinion, a late shoulder from where I was sitting although I was a wee bit away. A warning would've done. I couldn't really see the Tyrone lads sending off either, he went in late with a boot I think and a few of our lads came in after him then, ref could've handled that better overall as well I think. But overall he had a decent enough game, let some things go which other refs would blow for but I prefer a flowing game. No need to blow for every pull back if the attacking player breaks free. I think the OP should just give the Evening Herald/Irish Star hype machine a chance to get into overdrive. He will be soon tipping the Dubs again, pushing out the odds of better teams and making me a lot of money BatigolStatue (Mayo) - Posts: 211 - 24/01/2011 20:33:24 853004 Link 0 |

Looks like preparations for the league haven't been going well judging by the story on the homepage! Lockjaw (Donegal) - Posts: 9155 - 25/01/2011 10:40:41 853194 Link 0 |

Very well said Lockjaw, it's an absolute disgrace, and it's very limiting as well. Like you say every team has to deal with the same idiotic rule but I can't believe it got implemented in the first place. It makes no sense. This isn't soccer it's Gaelic Football and injuries will happen. There are more players involved on the pitch and there needs to be more involved in the squad as a result. I mean everyone was talking about what won Cork the All-Ireland (apart from their ridiculous fitness) was their squad. How are you supposed to bring lads through to the panel and blood them in to inter-county football with a squad size of 26, 25 essentially because of a second keeper. Didn't Donegal win the league a few years back and then lose their only 2 championship games? So approach with caution.. Saw them against Meath wasn't really impressed with Donegal in fairness that day in general, can they win an Ulster?? It's possible but I don't see it,I think Down or Tyrone will do that.. ziggy32001 (Meath) - Posts: 8354 - 20/03/2011 11:44:15 891946 Link 0 |
