But good luck anyway.A plastic hurl is for life and won't break.

The reason the prices in the shop is more is because they buy them off us in bulk and add on their own margin and sell them on, the shop also has to charge Vat while we are not registered for Vat, at the moment we don't mind the shop selling at that price because it offers the convenience of being able to call to your local shop rather than driving up to Offaly to collect. However in time as we get more established and economies of scale come into play we will certainly be pushing to get our costs down so that we can sell them cheaper but as I mentioned early we do sell direct to the customer for E39.99 down to E24.99 for the smallest size and each hurl comes with the 2 grips already on the hurl. I also said that the Cúltec hurl is not unbreakable and therefore not for life but they do last longer and are not as easily broken as the average ash hurl. For example in a club championship game this year in Offaly one guy broke 3 of his opponents ash hurls using a Cultec, on each occasion it was just an ordinary clash, either overhead or on the ground, during the last pull the Cultec hurl broke also but he managed to score a point with it before he realised it was broke. When he struck the ball for the score he realised there was something wrong and when he checked it sure enough it broke during the clash. That particular hurl lasted the equivalent of 3 ash hurls, I know that's a very simple and somewhat unscientific way of looking at it but it is genuine field testing and that was the result. So surely the particular player using the Cultec got better value for money than the guy who bought 3 ash hurls. That example also proved that it wasn't unbreakable and we have no intention of making them unbreakable because as the GAA have told us an unbreakable hurl is dangerous and unusable. Duffy89, I'm not sure I get what you mean about the rapper and orchestra thing, I'm guessing you think that basically our graphite and carbon fibre hurls are not as good as an ash hurl which is your opinion and that's fine we realise that they won't be for everyone and that's fair enough you only have to go around the country to hear the debate about the different bás shapes the hurls themselves should be to realise not everyone will agree but if you could be more open minded and gave them a try you may be surprised at the quality and the performance of the Cúltec hurl.

Thanks very much, also just in case you didn't know, Pat Kenny was using it for Wexford last year against Carlow in the league in his debut and he scored 3-3, he was also using it during the League final against us (Offaly) but wasn't as successfull (Thankfully!!). If it only helps Wexford and Offaly break the hold Kilkenny have it will be a great success!!!

That is true, it was just great for us for such a talented young hurler to use it on his debut

I'd be interested in buying one of these hurls as god knows I go through enough of them a year. Can you just explain why it is £14 to get it shipped across the border and £8 for other counties in Ireland?

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, I forgot my password and had to get it reset. We ship all the hurl through an An Post Account. All the shipments are registered with a Track and Trace number. The costs for Shipping are E8.50 for the Republic of Ireland, E10.00 for Northern Ireland and E15.00 for England, Scotland and Wales. When we got our online shop up and running it is based on a programme called Zen Cart and the problem is it breaks Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales into 2 options when you register on the site, Ireland and UK. So it was left at E15.00 for the UK. But what most people do and you should do is when you are putting in your address select 'Ireland' instead of the' United Kingdom' from the drop down and you will be charged the Ireland shipping rate rather than the UK one and we will absorb the extra E1.50 that it costs to get it over the border.
